My wife and I found the place pleasant and clean. Sure it's like any other place it has its flaws. I bet if we went to some of the homes of the people complaining you would find sweet briar a lot cleaner than there home. We have stayed there several times and I can't find a problem like I see... My rating matches the number of stars this motel was rated at, so my expectations weren't very high, but for the price we paid for the room, I did expect more. The location was great, especially since it was right across from the event (Oktoberfest, which was pretty sad too). Usually, when a motel is located in a touristy area... More

this place is a nightmare, the office reeks of dog urine and cigarette smoke, not inviting at all, rooms are not much better, i realize it is and older motel but some work needs to be done to the rooms, all the people we talked with that were staying there felt the same way . I would rather pay a... More

I usually come down to Maggie Valley at least once a year and normally stay at Martin's Motel. However last year when I got there I found that Martin's had closed because the owner had passed away. I rode down the strip a little ways and stopped here the owner was very friendly and my room was clean. It is... More

The outside is nice as well as the lobby. However when you open the door to the room it then becomes a nightmare. There were bugs crawling around, stains in the chairs, stains in carpet. Nasty is the best way to descibe it. Bathroom doors wouldn't shut and you had to use drop cords for outlets. The owner was rude.... More

I was traveling alone and needed a basic place for a couple of days! Easy check in and out! Nice professional staff! Sweet Briar Motel is a small motel which I like that! All of my needs where met! Outside areas and parking lot were neat/clean, with good lighting! My room was clean and everything worked with no bugs! I... More

We got friendly service. The owners were great, took time out of her business morning to come and sit with us and talk. She told us the story of Maggie Valley and how it got it's name. She gave us information on where to go to see some wonderful views. The room was comfortable, the beds, covers and pillow were... More

Don't go here. NASTY!! Clogged sink, no hot water, could not shut bathroom door, would not walk on floors without shoes on. Barking dog in pen 30' behind the motel. Paint peeling off ceiling and walls. Analog TV only. Creepy old man peeking in whenever you opened the door. Deadbolt lock didn't work.

Iam sorry you feel that way. If something like that was bothing me I would at least complain to the office. Our motel is a very safe place to be and for a dirty old man peeking in your window that was a lie........ We have alot of great returning guest that is very happy with our little motel with...
