We searched the area for a place for our two eleven year old, first time rider, girls to horseback ride, and ended up at Cataloochee Ranch. They took a 2 1/2 hour ride over creeks, along mountainsides, up to the mountain top. They absolutely loved it! The horse handlers were fantastic, friendly and very welcoming. It was clear that the... More

Just spent 4 marvelous days at Cataloochee after a 16-year absence and introduced it to another couple.it did not disappoint - the same great scenery, accommodations, food and hospitality. The food is like going back to the best summer camp - p,enriful, homemade, delicious! We stayed in the ranch house. Next time I would do a cabin, but loved being right... More

Girlfriend trip to primarily ride horses and enjoy this part of the country. Comfortable lodging, more than ample food and a wonderful get away to get to know the countryside and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.

Cataloochee is such a rare and treasured place. This is my second trip there and as usual it was outstanding. The Lodge is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms as nice considering you are in a log cabin built so long ago. The food and staff are both awesome. The true attraction for me to this magical place is the... More

Our family is from Florida and we thought it would be nice to take our kids ages 8 and 13 to see snow. We made our reservations online and decided to stay Monday-Thursday. We thought we could save some money by staying here because they advertise meals. They also advertise special accomdations for allergies, so we asked them to make... More

We arrIved at the ranch on a Friday night after a brief snowfall the previous day. It was enough snow to give the ranch a shimmering appearance. The evening meal of fried chicken was delicious. There were only a handful of guests which was fine with us as we wanted a quiet weekend. Our accommodations were modest and clean. The... More

My wife and I took our first trip this weekend, and it will be the first of many. The staff was excellent. They were not only professional, but very personable and genuine.
