The ranch is located above Maggi Valley, and is a world in itself. Quiet, self-contained, and run by the granddaughter of the original owner/developer. The accomodations consist of a cluster of rustic log cabins and one building which has four units, scattered loosely around the lodge itself (also with rooms). The lodge has a dining area and a gift shop,... More

We didn't stay at the ranch, only went there to ride horses. The ride was good, over two hours up into the mountains where you could look down and see forever. The guides on the ride were great, very friendly and professional. I would return and stay at the ranch next time.

My husband and I were married at Cataloochee Ranch in September 2015 and we had the absolute best experience! We rented the entire ranch for the weekend so our family and friends could stay on site which was such a blessing. It made our wedding feel like a huge family reunion and one giant party. The staff at the Ranch... More

We have just had a wonderful 2 days at Cataloochee Ranch - the views are simply incredible - it is the most amazing setting. We stayed in a room on the ranch which was very traditional and absolutely spotless, with an extremely comfortable bed - and of course with a view! The Ranch is a real geataway from it all... More

Only had lunch, but cabins look nice, and are intended for a romantic getaway. Views from the restaurant back porch were great. There is horseback riding among other activities; laid back, casual environment. Food was pretty good!

We had a wonderful family vacation at Cataloochee Ranch in August 2015. We were looking for a place close to Asheville, as my sister recently had twins and needed a vacation spot close to home. We traveled with her family, my parents, my husband and three kids (ages 8, 6, and 3). We were all completely overwhelmed by gorgeous Cataloochee... More

We searched the area for a place for our two eleven year old, first time rider, girls to horseback ride, and ended up at Cataloochee Ranch. They took a 2 1/2 hour ride over creeks, along mountainsides, up to the mountain top. They absolutely loved it! The horse handlers were fantastic, friendly and very welcoming. It was clear that the... More
