Behind its high walls, you will find a fine and distinguished manor, with its old winery and impeccable grounds, a lovely outdoor swimming pool and tennis court. A haven of peace and quiet to relax during a touring holiday of Northern Portugal. Everyone, from the owner to the cleaning ladies were very friendly and helpful. A place to recommend, to... More

We only stayed for one night but would certainly return. It's just really comfortable and under-stated with excellent management and the personal touch of the owner. Go there to chill out and kick-back. The village itself is nothing to shout about, there's a passable restaurant a short walk away, there's a bar and snooker room. We had one of the... More

The Quinta is simply one of the nicest places we have stayed. It is a great place to relax or to use as a base to see northern Portugal. Our room had a lovely patio with a sea view, which was a great place to sit and enjoy the sunset or just relax. It was very quiet, roomy and extremely... More

We spent a week at Quinta Do Monteverdi at the end of September. The house, which has a very interesting history, and the grounds, about 3 plus acres, are maintained to a very high standard. The grounds are surrounded by a substantial stone wall and there are distant views of the Atlantic Ocean. The permanent staff, Marco, Vera and Catia... More

Absolutely wonderful stay here in August. This is an extraordinary place to stay, and as others have said it is absolutely worth it. We had two of the cottages, which have been done up in a very stylish way (huge and comfy beds). Breakfast was superb, the dinner we had there was excellent too. The hosts are really lovely people,... More

Quinta do Monteverde sets and delivers very high standards which from our experience few others reach. Accommodation, whether in the house or cottages is a successful blend of history, style and excellent facilities. Breakfasts are a broad range of high quality options and the dinners are well priced and imaginative. The wine list is good and prices very competitive. The... More

We stayed for 3 days at this amazing place. It was a splendid way to relax & recharge. The hosts are wonderful, and they create an atmosphere of tranquility and beauty. Breakfast was a pleasure, and the dinner in house an amazing experience. We truly enjoyed our time, this place is truly worth the splurge!

The bathrooms in the terraced cottages/suites have been re-furbished to a high standard. The new manager Marco is very experienced, very efficient but discrete and an asset to the Quinta ensuring your stay is a pleasant one.The nearest restaurant is now called O Castelo and the manager Luis has good english,... We love to stay in Paradors and Pousada, so we have some experience staying in historical buildings. Our stay in Quinta do Monteverde was truly exceptional. The moment the gate of the domain closes, you find yourself in an oasis of peace and calm. The short walk from the parking to the manor house, where we stayed, leads through a... More

My wife and I recently stayed here for 11 nights. The owners, Fatima and Jose, are lovely people. They are very serious about both the comfort of their guests and maintaining the heritage of their superb home. We greatly enjoyed our stay; there is an outdoor pool, an honesty bar in the basement, an excellent breakfast buffet, a small gym... More
