Very clean, nice pillows and mattress! So homey feeling and a gorgeous view! We enjoyed our stay so much. The furniture and decor may not have been 2015 updated, but it was clean and well kept and comfortable....gave us a welcome home, mountain feel. We will stay there again!!!!!

This was the NASTIEST place I or my husband have ever been in. We got there and within 2 days we killed SEVERAL COCKROACHES, I then called the front desk to which they replied they could send someone to spray. I asked multiple times if we could just be moved and we finally were. We get to that room and... More

This resort is in the mountains, so expect twisting, turning, winding roads to get there and to get around the area. We checked in at the welcome center. They were friendly and helpful, giving us directions to some places in the area we wanted to go. These condos are located near the golf course. When we entered the unit, there... More

The one bedroom condo is very dated. Although it was clean it was dark and not well kept. Furniture was old and the kitchen was very small with little space to prepare meals or snacks. Water had to be boiled but we were told by a maintenance man "I've lived here all my life and would never drink the water".... More

My husband and I stayed in the main resort several times and loved it. My parents had stayed in this resort once before and while I was aware it was not the same quality as the main resort it was a decent unit. imagine my surprise when I was assigned a B side unit...it is a dungeon. The "living room"... More

We stayed in the Maple Ridge section in a 2-bedroom lock-out unit which is actually two 1-bedroom units connected by door that can be locked, if desired. After reading some of these reviews, I was a little worried about staying here...especially because I'm bug-phobic. Luckily, our unit was just fine. The view was great...we overlooked a little bit of the... More

We stayed in a "B" unit with one bedroom downstairs and sofa pullout in a small foyer upstairs. The entire unit is very outdated but is kept clean and functional. There is a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom which was really nice after a long day. Ground level deck looks out over a golf course. The mattress in our bedroom... More

The building was not level, which caused all of the doors to need propping in order to stay open. The furnishings, carpet and appliances were dated. The carpet was dirty and the walls along he stairs needed painting. The top of the refrigerator was visible when enering the downstairs, and was dirty and had a sticky residue on it. The... More

For our very first visit to Lake Lure, we stayed one week in a 1 bedroom upstairs unit at Fairways of the Mountains resort which is part of the Rumbling Bald resort. It was a quiet location on the 10th Fairway of the Apple Valley Golf Course (~5 minute drive to the major resort amenities on Lake Lure). The unit... More
