We stayed one night at this hotel. Yes, this is a older place, the building self is not very attractive. But the room is good size and very clean. Most of all the people there are very friendly and willing to help. I would stay there again! more

We stayed here for just one night before we could check into our rental house on the outer banks, and thought it was great. It's a Holiday Inn Express so no one's expecting luxury, all the same I was pleasantly surprised. Room was a good size, clean and attractive. Our room was quiet, the beds were comfortable and the staff... more
We stayed here for three nights in June. The staff was very friendly and courteous and the place was very clean! It was an ideal place for our first time exploring the area, with two young children. The housekeeping staff was a little slow, i/e/ rooms were not made up until later afternoon typically, but overall it was a pleasant... more
Two nights in Peak Season. I chose it b/c I had to go to a wedding @ the Sanderling (30-45 mins away in season w/ traffic), and there was nothing else available. The hotel was truly @ a AAA 2 diamond level (old, clean, respectable). The accomodations were clean enough (wear slippers or flipflops inside, though), and the room (107)... more
We just stayed for 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Kitty Hawk. Though the price of $141 (that WITH the AAA discount) was a bit steep for what you get, there are some good things about staying here. First let me say, that price is pretty much in peak season (June 17). The bed had seen much better... more
This is NOT the hotel you want to stay at if you are wanting an oceanside hotel. You have to walk through what seems like the backyards of the surrounding houses, and then across a main road to get to the beach. My little sister and her friend were staying at the Hampton Inn in Corolla, and that is where... more
Typical Holiday Inn at a very convenient location: close to restaurants and shopping and only one short block from the ocean (A private walkway from the parking lot leads to the beach). We stayed there 2 nights Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 2005. Nothing fancy, could use a little refurbishment, but more than adequate for our needs. We had a... more
I can't see what all the complaints in the previous reviews are about. You guys must be awfully picky! We stayed two nights. The room was clean, as were all the common areas. Carpeting was clean - the only spots I saw that were kind of dirty were at the outside entrances, and that was probably from people coming in... more
Stayed 2-9-04. Staff was great but the hotel (other than the lobby) are showing signs of wear. They seem to try to cover up a smell in the hallways with a scent spray or carpet cleaner. The carpets in the rooms show stains and needs serious attention. The grout on the bathroom floors need attention too. The ceiling had patched... more
We went with low expectations due to its age and previous reviews, but with the one night that we stayed we was pleased. Lobby was clean with helpful attendants at the front desk. Variety of newspaper, drink and snack machines on both floors located near the stairs. The room was rather plain, but comfortable and much to our surprise we... more
