We drove down for family vacation. Got there early so were using pool and restrooms The water was turned off because when it is on all the sinks run, toilet has feces with Mosquitos in it. Was probably sitting there for a week or so and pool was getting fixed. And landscaping was terrible. If you cannot take care of... More

We just returned home from Kitty Hawk. We had a great time. Our property was a 3 BR. We had 4 adults and 3 grade school grand children. There were 2 living rooms and 3 bathrooms. We were a 2 minute walk to a large outdoor pool and 5 minute drive to the beach with our own coded parking lot... More

We recently stayed here in August. Pros- The staff at the fitness and indoor pool were very nice and friendly. The kids enjoyed feeding the 30+ turtles in the pond (we bought turtle food at wall mart). There are biking and nature trails in the complex. Large outdoor pool. Reasonably priced. Cons- The condo (1600's) needs repairs. The shower door... More

The location of this place is great. It is odd at first because you have to go behind the Walmart shopping center, but once you get back there, it is really beautiful. Tucked away in the trees are the little condos. Beach access is a two-minute drive away and the complex parking lot is right by the beach. The grocery... More

So this is not the most modern resort - but it has everything you need, it's comfortable, it's clean and it's quiet. So you can't have endless rolls of toilet paper or dish detergent, but it's not a hotel!? Buy your own! Some of these reviews crack me up. The complaints about the bugs are ridiculous. If you can't handle... More

This was our first trip to Barrier Island Station in Kitty Hawk, although we have stayed at the one in Duck. While we had a great time in the area and on the beach, our unit was another story. We don't mind older units, but the beds in this one were miserable, which makes for a long week. I can... More

The units are dated but clean. The second bedroom is upstairs so be prepared to climb steps. Had a full kitchen and two baths. There is a washer/dryer but it is shared among units. NO FREE WIFI in the unit. The staff members we encountered were friendly. The resort has indoor and outdoors pools, game room, gym, organized area tours,... More

Older but nice resort, staff was very accomodating, even helped arrange for our sons unit to be moved next to us. This gave us the opportunity to spend more time with the grandbabies. While we would have prefered to be oceanside, this is not really possible. Units are not upscale, but were clean and comfortable.

My husband and I were here from May 17th thru the 24th, 2014. When we arrived to our unit at 9:00pm, the kitchen had not been cleaned from the previous guest..dirty dishes, frig and microwave had not been cleaned, food in pots and pans, food splatter on the walls, silverware in tray covered in food, food crumbs throughout all the... Stayed here 5/25/14 for a week, old and has a screened in porch which was nice, but whole unit had not been cleaned in a while. We were guests of my sister, and as a whole we own 5 time shares, this was probably the worst maintained unit we have stayed in a timeshare. The A/C went out the first... More
