I read all the negative reviews and was surprised that when I stayed here that it was the exact opposite. The place is very nice( it is a camp ground that's 31$ a night, not a 5 star hotel). They have picnic tables and grills and showers. Though showers aren't much ( fit only two at a time) but ur... More

My family of four and a friend stayed two nights in a hostel room for sixty like bucks a night. Considering the expense of every other option for travelers on the OBX, I didn't expect much. I was blown away with the comfort of the hostel. Our room had four bunks, A/C, a small fridge, and a microwave. There was... More

We camped at this campground. Basically, you pay over $30 to put your tent up on someone's lawn. There are no separate sites. Just picnic tables and some grills strewn about on an open grassy yard. There is space for a few tents under some trees, which would have been nice if not for being right next to two caged... More

Came down for Fourth of July weekend and planned to stay at oregon Inlet campground. I had to change plans because of the hurricane so we stayed here. It cost $20 more a night than Oregon inlet to throw a tent up(just anywhere on the grass) instead of receiving your own private plot to set up. For this much more... More

The rate was changed when I got there for my last night. I asked for a private room/bathroom and was assured, no problem. However, you do share a bathroom with others. . . I personally didn't want to share a bathroom with men I didn't know. The floors and table were dirty. Lastly, there were roaches. Just not worth it.

I stayed at this Hostel inn before running in the OBX 1/2 Marathon. For $45 plus tax I got a room with shared kitchen, bath and living room. The suites are set up so that 2 rooms share. The family that was on the other room was also racing, so they were quiet. There are 2 sets of bunk beds... More

It does what it says on the box! For anyone complaining of noise, or bugs, what do you really expect when you're car camping in the Outer Banks? Some days I can barely sit on the beach in Duck or Corolla without being attacked by swarms of biting flies. That doesn't mean I will never return to that beach though.... More

I was skeptic of this campground b/c of the other reviews on here, but it was a great place. There was a belligerent idiot the 1st night (I think he was visiting a camper) and he was promptly kicked out. No drugs, no drunk people, no homeless people. I stayed at this campground alone with my 11 year old daughter... More

Just pitch your tent anywhere you can find a spot, as there are no formal sites, and be prepared for the longest night and most miserable and unsafe experience ever: loud, crude, rude, racist Frat parties; druggies/homeless people shuffling around 24/7; peacocks screeching all day & all night; filthy showers, albeit with hot H2O; and streetlights. STAY AWAY!!!!

We chose this campground because it was very close to the Kitty Hawk beaches, which allow dogs all year. The campground itself is strangely arranged with most of the campsites out in an open field quite close to the road. We were lucky, though, and got one of the few shaded sites, which was flat and spacious. As campground bathrooms... More
