We stayed at the Days Inn Mariner in Kill Devil Hills, NC in June 2008. It was clean inside and out. The beds were comfortable. The pool was sparkling. The building is older and the room and bathroom were not very big but it was a good value for a comfortable, clean room on the beach. I would stay again... more

Considering this is one of few hotels in the Outer Banks- it was decent. My family was there for a wedding the middle of May and we stayed here b/c it was close to the wedding location. I am a travel agent so I do like to point things out. My only real compliant is that if you were in... more

Thank you for your recent response on our property. We appreciate the time you took to let everyone know your thoughts. The property is comprised of 3 buildings on the oceanfront and 1 building across the street from the ocean (which we call the Mariner II). On the oceanside of the road we have a 2 & 3 story building,...

We booked a room and it was a suite with a living room, two TV's, a small table, frig and microwave. It was very clean and we loved the fact we walked out the door and onto the beach. It is also close to the Wright Brothers Memorial which we went to the next day. The breakfast had a waffle... more

Thank you for taking the time to write a response on our property. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Mariner. You must have been in our 2 story building closest to the ocean, as that walkway leads right down to the beach (we also have a 3 story building on the oceanfront). Most of...

There was a horrible smell first of all in the room. The place was under construction . There was no elevators and you had to walk all the way around the buliding just to get to your room because the steps were blocked off. There was a big ladder out there with no fence or anything to block it off... more

We appreciate your response on your stay Feb 1st and 2nd at our property. The ladder to which you refer to was the lift the roof contractor used to move materials to the top of the building (where the new roof was being installed). This lift as well as the area immediately surrounding the lift was cordoned off with caution...

I booked a reservation in May online for a stay 1-2 July. I mistakenly booked the reservation for 1-2 JUNE. Unfortunately, I did not notice the error until I was making preparations at the end of June. When I called, the people at the property would not refund *or* apply the amount paid to our new reservation for July (the... more

The reservation you had booked with our property is called an "Advance Purchase Discount Rate" which must be booked on our brand website at least 2 days in advance. This offers the guest the guaranteed lowest rate at the time the reservation is booked. The reservation cannot be made until a box is checked (which makes the "submit" button then...

The reviews I read prior to my stay were very good to very bad. Having stayed there, I think I know why. The three story bldg in front of the property appears to be in very bad shape; it looked shabby and dirty. Had our room been there, I don't think I would have stayed. Our room (#135) was in... more

Room 135 is one of our queen suites with a queen bed in the bedroom, bath, and separate sitting area with loveseat, microwave/refrigerator, table w/2 chairs. It is actually one of our most popular rooms for our Corporate guests that visit weekly. This hotel (the structure itself) is one of the older properties on the beach, however over 2/3 of...

We arrived to a clean room with clean toliet, plenty of towels and toliet paper, room did have a slightly musty smell to it but you are near the water, I am sure other people come in with we feet, clothing etc...from pool or beach, this is bound to happen. We had a nice refrigerator in our room with a... more

We're certainly happy that you had a nice visit at our hotel! From your review mentioning the chairs, we just want to note that we have adirondack chairs outside our queen suites, or our suites on the 2nd floor of the 2 story building only. Though by the 3 story building we do have chairs to sit out in as...

Well The room was kind of smelly and when the toilet got clogged from nothing they told us to come to the desk for a plunger. What service is that. The room with a queen and pullout had two flat screen tvs which was nice. The breakfast was good but the afternoon refreshment. Ha a few cups with lemonade and... more

Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very attentive and met our needs beyond my expections. Yes, it is an older hotel and could use some cosmetic upgrading, but, what matters to me is having great service and a clean place to stay. My boys loved the fact that we had two TV's and 1.5 baths in our... more

Thank you for your recent comments of your stay with us on the Outer Banks. I'm glad your children enjoyed the TVs in the suite. Except the room the 2 suites near the lobby (227 & 228), all of our suites will have 1 bath--but most will have 2 TVs (1 in the bedroom and 1 in the living area)....

I read the other Trip Advisor reviews, and I knew what I was in for. It is an older motel on the beach. Not very clean, the bathroom especially, it was full of sand and hair when we checked in.The room smelled bad . . . dirty and musty. There was trash under the beds. The pool was not particularly... more

I appreciate your review of our property during your Outer Banks stay. I am extremely sorry that your room was not acceptable when you checked in, this was a poor way to show you our attributes upon your check in.
