My husband booked three nights recently at the Cypress House Inn for our anniversary. Neither of us at been to the outer banks after living in the mountains for 20 years, so we really wanted to experience what we had heard and read about. This time of year it is cold in the mountains but it was also cold at... More

We recently stayed for 3 nights a Cypress, and overall had a very enjoyable time. This was our first B&B experience, so we weren't really sure what to expect. We thought that the location was perfect - close enough to the main KDH main streets, and across the street from the beach. The surroundings were quiet, and the house itself... More

I loved this house - an old hunting and fishing lodge. Right across the street from the ocean. Had friendly hosts, good food and charming ambiance. Very close to ocean, but can't see it from the house. Only other negative was that the beach itself is not that nice in this area. The ocean is always beautiful, but the sand... More

We've made four trips to Kill Devil Hills over the past 10 years and always stay here because the location is great, the rooms are big and comfortable, the porch and the living room are great places to chill or sit and talk, and the breakfast is always wonderful. We were there 4 days and cleaned our plates every morning.... More

Agree with other reviews on location, hosts, and food. House is lovely, and Bill and Veda are friendly and warm. However, we booked the Roanoke Room which was VERY small and had the most uncomfortable bed I've EVER paid to sleep on. Seriously. The shower was also very small making it difficult to wash your hair without bumping your elbows.... More

We are saddened to hear that our guests from Southern California were disappointed during their stay. We were fully booked for that weekend so we did not have an opportunity to move them to another room. When they booked online in July, there were two larger rooms available at that time that were not chosen. Room 3 The Roanoke is... More

My husband and stayed here as we celebrated our anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful!! We loved the uniqueness of the house itself and it was great to be so close to the beach. Bill is a superb host and the breakfasts served were fresh and delicious. The thoughtfulness shown to all of the guests was obvious. You can't go... More

Can't say enough about Cypress House , after years of renting large cottages at the northern end of OBX we found this in Southern Living Mag. Kids are grown and we wanted a weekend at the beach. Perfect place good value, good location. Bill and Veda were great hosts and we had a great stay. This was a great discovery... More

The Cypress House Inn is a wonderful and carefree escape thanks to the efforts of Innkeepers, Bill and Veda. And includes a spunky new addition, a precious rescue pup named Sassy. You can expect a pristine room, hospitality and good conversation, amenities that include beach towels, chairs, cookies, tea...wonderful breakfasts and a beautiful garden/porch. An abundance of magazines and books... More

We went to the Cypress House Inn on the strength of the earlier reviews here and we're glad we did! Veda and Bill were gracious and handy anytime we needed them. We had a corner room, the Atlantic, and were pleased. Great linens and pillows. All rooms have the original white cypress paneling which has mellowed to a lovely honey... More

We just returned home and are checking our calendar for a return stay. The owners, Bill and Veda are great host. We could not have ask for a more friendly, accommodating and gracious host. The Inn is rich in historical charm and very beautifully furnished. A wonderful combination of old school charm and modern amenities makes for an unforgettable experience.... More
