The beach was awesome and great to be so close. The room was ok but I don't go on vacation to hang in the room so it was fine. We didn't want to pay extra to have the oceanfront but it was still right there. My friends band was playing at the Outer Banks Brewery and it was really close.... more

My family and I stayed 4 nights..had to request room to be restocked/cleaned. Sheets were not changed all week..even though we requested housekeeping services. Door would not shut easily/completely without force. Bathroom clean but had no towels upon arrival. Has great private beach access which was the best part of the stay. Does not offer breakfast and most other choice... more

My husband and I stayed on June 6th and we rented an 'Ocean Front' room. We got to the room and pulled back the bed spread, as I always check the sheets right away. The bed was made, like the room was cleaned, but the sheets had black hair on them and dirt actually on the bed! The bathroom was... more

this hotel has a great location and should take full advantage of that. The hotel needs serious renovations and lacks cleanliness in all areas. The halls and entry doors were dirty. The carpet is old, as well as the bathroom fixtures. The outside sitting area had peeling paint and old air conditioning units sticking out. The pet rooms had big,... more

Room was ok though I was concerned re. bugs (none evident). Halls, rugs, exterior all in terrible shape. The hallways smelled musty, old and stale. It could get you nauseous. Location is right on the ocean but there are cleaner, better choices nearby. more

I would normally expect a typical beach motel, This was much more like a better motel you would find anywhere. The room looked freshly painted and well maintained. The staff was extremely friendly , knowledgeable and helpful. A great experience. more

I wanted to surprise my wife with a night on the Outer Banks (OBX) for Valentine's Day. I shopped around on the internet looking for a oceanfront hotel. We found that most of the hotels on the OBX were booked up, not shocking Valentine's Day weekend and I was looking last minute. We came to the hotel which is located... more

My husband and I went for a weekend getaway. Overall, when we are in the Outer Banks we don't spend too much time in our room - just look for a clean bed and bathroom. My complaint here was the with the bathrooms....there was mold and mildew on the ceiling and there was mildew caked underneath the shower handles which... more

My boyfriend and I just got back from the Outer Banks and we stayed 4 days at the Quality Inn/John Yancey. We arrived on a Tuesday morning around 11:30 am and we were able to check immediately into our room, which was great. We had requested a room on the ground floor due to the motel not having an elevator... more

This was a really bad experience for me and my boyfriend. The only positive things about this hotel is the friendly staff, good A/C and the available BBQ installation. We got up in the morning, take a shower, and the shower drain was not working. One foot of dirty water was staying in the bath while taking our shower. Then,... more
