My family and I hiked into Hot Springs on Monday June 30, 2014 and were excited to have made reservations, several weeks in advance; to stay right over the tavern. Our first stop in town was at the Spring Creek Tavern where we enjoyed our meals and drinks like you only can after several days on the trail! After eating... More

Stayed one night while passing through the area. The inn is a delightful restoration of the historic location. The room was clean and had a nice mountain view. Bed very comfortable. The nightly train woke us briefly but fell back to sleep. May be a problem for some. The location is in the center of Hot Springs. Park and walk,... More

We had a room facing the railroad tracks. Room was small but big enough for us and the bed was comfortable. No TV, no refrigerator, no hair dryers, but we knew that when we booked it. The big problem was that it just wasn't clean. The ahower was disgusting. On a different note. .we ate dinner at the restaurant and... More

This inn does have a lot of character and our room was very nice, small but nice. Bring ear plugs unless nothing wakes you from your sleep. Yes the train was very loud at 4am (you are a street's width away from the track) but not only that the air conditioning was very noisy, walls thin and the key drop... More

We spent a single night at the Iron Horse Station, wish it had been longer. We took a room with a jacuzzi tub and a skylight. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and great old wood floors it was a great get away from our busy life, no phone or TV to disturb us. We were able to talk and take... More

Great lunch with a smashing chicken and bean soup, and an even better supper with Blackened Trout. Friendly staff and comfortable setting. Nice place to eat with a craft store one stop away. And parking right out the front door next to the train tracks.

The Iron Horse Inn is in the beautiful small town of Hot Springs, NC. The original building was built in 1865 with an additional building added in 1880. The spaces have been brought up to modern standards, but still have the quaint touches of the past. The innkeeper Beverly is a gem that you will find helpful, friendly and full... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Iron Horse Inn, located in Hot Springs, NC. We had a wonderful time - both at the hotel, and the town! Our room was designed like a Pullman sleeper car circa 1800's, so we felt like we were experiencing a piece of American history. Baj, the innkeeper, (Yes, that really is his... More

We had been through this town a couple of times and didnt really know that the hotel existed. We had a nice relaxing stay with a jacuzzi tub in our room (we saw the other review about getting this room) the manager Badge went out of his way to help us as we were planning a trip through the mountains....
