The Highlands Inn continues to hold great appeal for me because of its quiet and relaxing atmosphere and its location right in the heart of town. The Inn makes no pretense of being fast-paced. Instead, it seems more to revel in its age and old beauty. My room was comfortable, although not huge, and well appointed. A little balcony was... More

Awesome stay! When looking for an overnight stay and extended stay. Very friendly staff Very convenient to area downtown and walking distances to high end shopping and eating. Lodge is located near main street without the main street noise, so you are close to the "happening" but quiet and surrounded by trees up on the hill. Hot breakfast in morning,... More

We stayed in the Garden Suite. The room was unbelievably dusty and starting to fall apart (e.g., wall paper coming off the walls, curtains didn't work, etc.). The decor looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1980s. The "garden" was also unimpressive. It was overgrown, full of weeds, and the water fountain didn't work. The street access was nice,... This is a quaint old hotel in need of a little TLC, but look past that and just relax and enjoy. Close proximity to shops and restaurants is what makes this Inn. Enjoy your coffee or adult beverage on the expansive balcony overlooking Main St.

My husband and I enjoy historic inns that haven't been modernized to the point of chain hotels. The Highlands Inn is quaint, fun and in a great location. The staff (Tim at the front desk) are all friendly and helpful. We love the garden suite cottage in the back. Breakfast was delicious, and the menu had a variety of good... More

I almost didn’t book the Highlands Inn because of all the negative reviews but I had a friend who stayed there and liked the hotel. The ratings seem to be either 5-star or 1-star. Apparently some rooms are nice and some are not. Mine was not! My experience started with a questionable charge card practice which I was told by... More

My wife and I stayed three nights in the Highlands Inn. The rooms are slightly smaller and average with a distinctively dated decor. The bathroom was quite small too. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and very courteous. The breakfast is not included, but is reasonable. The rocking chairs on the porches are relaxing on a cool evening. The location is prime--right... We went to Highlands for a quick getaway. We should have stayed home. The first room they put us in was next to the road and it was very loud. Second room was out in the courtyard. There no curtains on the windows, and to top it off the shower was just a dribble! Also no shower curtain. The breakfast... More

My husband and I spent one night at Highlands Inn. The location is great, but this historic inn needs a renovation. Our room had an offensive musty odor, the window screens were missing, the furniture was old, TV screen so small we could hardly see it from the bed, WiFi connection not reliable, décor 1970's faded and worn. Such a... More

My sisters and I and our mother stay at the Highlands Inn every Fall. It is the perfect location, and the staff is wonderful!!! Yes, this is a historic old inn, so there are things that could use an update and occasionally a minor repair is needed, but the staff are extremely attentive and accomodating, and they take care of...
