My girlfriend and I stayed at the Highlands Inn earlier this month for our Anniversary. The Inn was charming and the staff was delightful and so helpful!. The theatre is great and the shops are wonderful. The shopkeepers are so friendly and polite. Thanks to all for a wonderful get-away weekend and making our Anniversary one to remember!

During my visit to Highlands’ I was delighted once again by the warm hospitality and cozy accommodations. This was the first time I’d stayed in one of the rooms on the “back” of the Highlands Inn – a great spot to catch the morning sun shining through the blossoming tree on the balcony. When I return to Highlands I will... More

Location . . . Location . . . Location. Right in the center of town, within walking distance of almost everything. You have to be in a certain mindset to enjoy a stay here. It is an old-fashioned place where everything is comfortably worn. But it is clean and has all of the basics. The staff is wonderful, personal, and... More

The rustic charm of this hotel is truly captivating. This small mountain town is beautiful and the weather is perfect if you want to escape the heat of summer. My boyfriend and I came up the other weekend to kick off the summer and escape the heat of Charleston, Sc. Highlands Inn was the perfect place to stay. It has... More

We stayed here for a wedding. The Inn had a water heater malfunction on Friday, our second day. We were told they had to have a part flown in overnight but we were not inconvenienced. There was only one day that the hot water was sporadic and we never waited more than 30 minutes. Only 7 rooms in the entire... More

This hotel is not worth the premium rate they charge, $200+ Night. Highlands Inn has a lot of potential to be a nice experience, however during my 2 night stay, I noticed a lot of overlooked details that turned me off from wanting to stay here again. We arrived around 11pm on a 30 degree night and originally assigned the... More

My wife and I stayed at the Highlands Inn from 10/30/14-11/3/14. Will never stay here again. It was anything but relaxing. We were expecting a fun old Carolina inn experience but that was not to be. For two days straight we had no hot water and we were told that was because too many people where staying there and using... More

Stayed there many times over past 15-20 years. Beds are better than a few years ago. Room 39 is so small that there is no room for even 1 night stand table (i.e. No bedside lamp). The floor creaks badly. This did no bother me, but I feel for the folks below. Inn has great location. Hard to find a... More

Staff was super nice but ended there. Way over priced, needs to be updated. Room faced the Rock Garden which could have been beautiful but not kept up (plants were dead, statue broken & etc.). Front is pretty but pretty much ended there.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you were disappointed in your stay over Labor day weekend. We note that your family visited with our staff many times in our lobby over the course of the weekend and never voiced any displeasure. I would also like to point out that the rooms you stayed in were remodeled with... More

I have seen this particular hotel in passing since I was a college student at WCU, but never felt that I could afford to stay at the inn. As I would walk up and down the streets I wondered what it must be like to sit on the upper porch, rock, read and have a glass of wine as the... More
