This place is simply amazing. A great little vacation spot. Every room has cute little wooden bear statues. Very clean, very friendly staff. We have been staying here for six months, and always felt welcome and at home. They have everything you want or need and I would highly recommend this little slice of Heaven. :)

WE stayed 5 nights in a small (very small, but still comfortable) efficiency with queen bed at the established and very inviting Mitchell's Lodge. May is the perfect time to visit this 'high end' area of NC mountains, as the normal summer crowds haven't descended on the town. This is located just 3-4 minutes from the charming town. The bed... We needed a pet-friendly place to stay while our condo in Highlands was undergoing some renovations. Mitchell's Lodge came through for us on one planned trip - and then came through another time when we were in need of lodging without notice when we had a water leak. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The room is clean and... More

I spent 4 nights at the lodge last week for a photo tour workshop and found the people and room to be very pleasant. Its not the Ritz but nor is the price. The staff was outstanding and on our early morning shoots, they made the continental breakfast available for us, try getting breakfast at the RITZ during off hours.... More

My wife and 5 year old stayed at Mitchell's lodge in August 2014. We rented a 1 BR suite in the newer building. The room had that mountain lodge feeling with a fireplace right in the middle. We had two beds and both were comfortable. There was a living area with a TV and a little porch that looked over... More

We were very pleased with our corner room with very large outside deck overlooking small stream. Room nice size with lots of windows and very clean. Free wifi a little intermittent but still it's free! Place is not far from main downtown area but close enough.

This was a really neat place to stay. I stayed in the original lodge (don't let the name fool you, it looks like a cabin motel from the outside). I was very pleased with the inside. Basically 2 motel rooms have been joined together to make a very nice room(s). It had a private bedroom with 2 double beds, tv,... More

We arrived late in the day without a place to stay and in checking several places we found a deluxe room here. Cindy the office manager was most helpful and very pleasant! Our room was spacious and clean. Very quiet. They serve a continental breakfast in the morning which was nice. Bagels, muffins, toast, cereal, oatmeal, pastries with juice and... More

My 3 sisters and I enjoyed the spacious room, fridge, kitchenette, 2 queen beds and continental breakfast in the mornings. The pond for fishing, creek running behind us and all the flowers around the pavilion for gathering in am or pm were wonderful. A perfect setting for our sisters weekend. The bedding linens need to be improved and the ac... More

We stayed in the Oak Cottage. The rooms were clean and comfortable but as a previous poster said, quaint. There was a kitchen, living room, dining area, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom had a queen size bed with a private bathroom with a jacuzzi (no shower); the second bedroom had a king size bed. The second bathroom was... More
