This remote resort was quaint and charming. Supposedly the weekends are crowded but on a Monday the place was practically ours. The room was comfortable, 51 degrees outside on an August evening, which met our needs with one exception-(the room had a fragrance bag) which was difficult for us because it attacks our allergies. It was far too cold to... More

It's currently named Altitude. We were treated like cherished family. We had heard raves about the maple pecan trout. Not on the menu! It turns out it was a Saturday special but our waiter, Eric, said he'd ask the chef. Tonight's $20 special was chicken carbonara. The rest of the dinners were $29-39 range..no salads. Good news..the wonderful chef said... More

The Skyline Lodge is a wonderful Highlands mountain retreat. Rooms are comfortable with nice amenities. The staff is pleasant and we experienced no issues during our stay. We recommend it highly. It's wonderful to be near the town, but isolated away from the hustle-bustle, not that Highlands has much.

We love the Highlands area and have stayed here in Highlands for both weekly rentals, and single-night stays over the years. We chose the Skyline Lodge because they allow pets and we wanted a no-hassle place. We were aware of this resort as we rented a cabin nearby several years ago. This properties better days have come and gone before... More

We had a fantastic time at the Highlands Lodge. We went for a wedding and couldn't have chosen better lodging. It is an older place tucked away in the beautiful mountains. The rooms were a little out dated but clean. Our balcony had a great view. The restaurant was fantastic! We arrived late Friday night, right after they closed, but... More

Upon arriving at the restaurant we were greeted by Lou who was behind the bar. She never said hello or welcome, just barked at us "Do you have a reservation"? Then, when I asked for a specific type of gin I wanted to drink, I got a very condescending and sarcastic remark insinuating that I was being difficult or a... More

Ok, first of all, I must compliment the overall beauty of this place and the nice breakfast buffet BUT, I'm writing about the room, and what they did to us was unacceptable. We had reservations 4 months before the event (a block of rooms were reserved) and yet when we checked in they had put us in the "conference center"... More

Beautiful! TA asks for my overall rating of the property, and I will oblige. I gave the Skyline Lodge 5 stars because of the effort to keep it's original dream of tranquility and simplicity alive while giving my wife and I the attention and privacy we needed. If the outdoors have inspired you; if visionaries like Frank Lloyd Wright fuel... More

I booked this hotel for a visit to Highlands in October. The drive to Highlands was beautiful, but the Skyline Lodge was a big disappointment. In fact, we got little sleep due to a corporate party that was taking place. This group of loud, rude, so-called professionals did too much drinking and had no consideration for other guests. Unfortunately, the... More
