Stayed here while attending a Blues Festival in Cashiers. Very comfortable, typical room, with usual amenities. Breakfast is included in the room rate and was very substantial. Not a waffle fan but several people were. We liked the location, just a minute or two from downtown. One could actually walk, altho crossing the main road would be hazardous. There is... More

When making this reservation I was surprised that not only did they take my credit card but they ran it before hanging up the phone. Day of reservation I was pretty surprised to get a phone call at 5:55 telling me hotel office closed at 6. My room key was in an envelope taped to the front door of the... More

From the breakfast to the late night hot chocolate chip cookies, the staff is very accommodating. The rooms have very comfortable beds. I had a room with a balcony. Really was great. The market at the end of the square has great food and not expensive. Great place to visit!!!

Stayed here for 3 days on a weekend. We could not get a ride to a wedding and when we thought we where going to miss the wedding the owner of the hotel drove us in her car to the wedding. I can't say enough how greatful we were. Custermer service was great all around and the employees could not... More

We recently spent 2 nights here, and enjoyed our stay. We got good use out of our balcony and our fireplace ... what a nice upgrade from the standard room. Nice continental breakfast in lodge style seating. And a very convenient location to downtown,

My mother, sister and I met here for a 3 night stay. We all had separate rooms with balconies. Check-in was flawless and I can't say enough about the friendly, help we got from the staff at the front desk. My Mom is 88 with mobility problems. They made everything easy for her. As she was tired from the first... More

We recently stayed at this place and found the rooms comfortable. The staff was nice. They have free WIFI that is a tad bit slow (hard to complain much about free stuff.) They have a nice plentiful complimentary breakfast. I give them kudos for having soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathroom instead of all those tiny bottles. They could... More

Thank you for your review. I appreciate your nice comments about our accommodations. We have installed amenity dispensers as part of our 'go green' effort and we are just trying to do our part by keeping the gazillion plastic bottles and paper out of our landfills. Our amenities are all top of the line products made by Greenwich Bay, the... More

I had a reservation for this weekend. My husband injured his back and could not walk at all. He is 67. We cancelled the airline tickets and car and next up the Hotel. They are charging us for one night and did not care that it was a medical emergency. I asked if I could give the money to an... More

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, your review does not adequately portray our policy. We do not have a 24-48 hour cancellation policy. We make sure all of our future guests know that BEFORE, DURING and AFTER making a reservation AND we follow it up with a written confirmation to each guest. Highlands is a destination property. We are not... More

My husband and I book this hotel last min and there were very few choices, so we figured we would give it a try. Overall, the place was okay. The room was clean and bed comfortable. We were really disappointed the hot tub wasn't working. When we mentioned it to the person at the desk, he said they recently fixed... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I would like to personally apologize for any inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, the names given at check in did not match with our reservation system and with no confirmation information from the guest, it can be so tricky. I am happy to see that we were able to accommodate you and... More

Was in Highlands, NC on business the end of July 2014 and stayed at the Highlands Inn, formerly a Hampton Inn hotel and now privately run. Ran the trip through Booking.com and had a problem when I checked in since they did not show me on their list of guests. Bottom line, they had a problem with their computer system... More
