We could not have asked for a more perfect place to get engaged. Colin and Raleigh were warm and welcoming and made our weekend special. We stayed in the fireplace suite which was very romantic and cozy - my fiancé asked me to marry him while we were curled up in front of the fire! The house is filled with... More

Colin, Raleigh (and Tallulah!) have done it again. We are repeat visitors and each time we experience the best food, accommodations, service and company when we stay here. Can't get any better than this, they are the best!

Pros: Very convenient to town, clean and comfortable accommodations, beautiful vistas of gardens and forest from all rooms, dog friendly, fireplace in suite, HBO in room, amazing cocktail hour and breakfast, very friendly and intelligent hosts with many years’ experience in hosting B&Bs. Cons: Wi-Fi not accessible in Fireplace Suite, coffee could be stronger. Okay it was my bad for... More

Highlands House is an exquisite property. Every detail is beautiful from furnishings and accessories to the magnificent grounds. Hosts Colin and Raleigh were exceptionally friendly, interesting and helpful. This is a place we could go back to again and again. Can't think of a restaurant where I've had a better breakfast. Had to ask for a recipe. Presentation was as... More

What a delightful visit to Highlands! A friend and I drove there recently to experience fall in its glory. We stayed three nights at the Highlands House. The innkeepers, Colin and Raleigh, were the icing on the cake of a wonderful trip. Their B&B is a heavenly haven. The home is a perfect example of architecture that is designed to... More

I have heard lots of Memphis and Nashville friends sing the praises of Highlands and Cashiers, NC, for a long time. A friend and I take an annual trip together and it seemed like the perfect place to go to see the fall colors. I made our reservations on bedandbreakfast.com in July to spend three nights there from October 9-12.... More

This is our second trip to this wonderful b&b. The innkeepers, Colin and Raleigh, are amazing raconteurs. We have stayed in the lower area with a sun room, a living area with fireplace, mini kitchen and queen bedroom. Lovely space, if a bit dark for reading. The resident dachshund, Tallulah, was a welcome visitor, and our Italian Greyhound, had a... More
