I have been enjoying the supreme hospitality of Colonial Pines B&B in Highlands, NC for about six years now and find it to be one of the best kept secrets in town! Nestled a few blocks off Main Street, within walking distance to town, the inn is cozy with pine paneled walls, four spacious bedrooms along with a wide veranda... More

Colonial Pines is a delightful, clean and comfortable B&B. The rooms are all different but each is charming. The innkeepers, Chris and Donna, have owned the property for thirty years and are wonderful to get to know. The breakfast is a delicious experience each morning. The inn sits on a hill just moments from downtown Highlands.

My husband and I stayed in the two bedroom guest house over the summer while we were visiting for a wedding. The guest house was more than we could have expected. It was very close to downtown, very clean, and very comfortable. The guest house would be good for a family of four or two couples. Donna and Chris were... More

My wife and I have been traveling to Highlands at least once a year for the past 25 years, and our experience in staying at several lodging selections has made us loyal and happy customers of the Colonial Pines. We've stayed in the main inn for many years, but for the past six of seven years, we have rented Miss... More

Yes, another wonderful visit to Highlands , NC and two nights stay at Colonial Pines B & B. As always we leave with such fun memories shared with Donna and Chris the owners. They make everything perfect for a short get away. I will have to say that Donna is a fabulous cook (The Best Full Breakfast ) fit for... More

Donna and Chris Alley are very gracious and experienced inn keepers and go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. We were there for a 3 day weekend in September. They provide wonderful breakfasts and went out of their way to purchase and cook us healthy alternatives. The rooms are very comfortable and have lovely pine walls and... More

In the past we have stayed at the 4 1/2 Street Inn when vacationing in Highlands. This visit, since that inn was full we stayed across the street at the Colonial Pines. This B and B has been in continuous operation in Highlands for over 30 years and was just a delightful place to stay. We like 4 1/2 Street... More

This is a great place. The old home is quite homey and warm. There is a large wrap around porch which has swings and tables in case you want to eat breakfast out or drink wine and watch the numerous hummingbirds in the afternoon or evening. The owners are most gracious and accommodating We had some small request for breakfast... More

We've stayed at Colonial Pines dozens of times over the years and it's always great. Donna's breakfasts are exceptional. It's like home away from home for us! We've stayed in every room, plus in the guest house out back. Every room is different, but all are very comfortable.
