My husband and I have been very busy recently with family obligations. We decided to spend the weekend hiking at Chimney Rock, and stay in Hendsersonville. When I saw the Charleston Inn website, I thought it looked nice, so we took a chance. It was amazing! We had so much fun-the house is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable and... More

My wife and I stayed here last weekend and we loved everything about the stay! Dave, Shellie, Jack and Tim made us feel so relaxed and so welcome. After a day of exploring the area we would return to the inn for a glass of wine cigar and great conversation on the front porch. He will go back very soon... More

This property has been a hotel or B&B for over 100 years, and it recently passed into new ownership. The new owners have thrown themselves into making the place welcoming and they have really succeeded. The common areas of the property are inviting and cozy - it's easy to see yourself wasting an evening rocking on the front porch splitting... More

I wavered between a three- and four-star review of this property. The location is nice--it's very conveniently located within walking distance of downtown. The innkeepers were extremely friendly and accommodating and the breakfast we had was very good. The house itself is in good condition and our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. The drawback is that the... More

Can't say enough nice things about this B and B. Beautiful building and rooms and great personal service. These new owners make us feel so welcome, and helped us with directions, evening meal planning, etc. Location is just off the main, busy (!) thoroughfare--close enough to walk to, but not too noisy for evening's rest. Lovely breakfast and very accommodating... More

We had a wonderful time at The Charleston. This is not the fanciest bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at...but was definitely the most historic! The original features and the feel of the house were awesome and really added to the enjoyment of our stay. The staff was very nice and friendly...and the breakfast was wonderful. Nothing too fancy...just... More

When you choose a nights stay in a Bed and Breakfast, you are looking for more than a place to lay your head. If I wanted an impersonal or generic room for the night, there are plenty of modern hotels to be found. We returned to the Charleston after a good experience when it was the Claddagh. This stay was... More

The new owners, David and Shelle, have made great changes to this old B&B. Shelle is very nice and accommodating. David is outgoing and adds a lot of character to the atmosphere. You can have a quiet evening rocking on the porch or in the common rooms, or join in with David and others having a humorous conversation.

Our weekend was okay but not great. The room was nice. Breakfast was just okay - basically a Shoney's buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, grits, gravy, and fruit (the same every morning). It was set out at 8:30. We were unsure who the owners were - there was a woman who checked us in and referenced that her mom... More

We were in town for a destination wedding and stayed a few extra days for the Great Smoky NP. Claddagh is at the end of downtown where the main street splits to one ways around downtown, so the front traffic is busy but we didn't notice too much noise at night. The website notes the historic inn was built in... More
