This was such a great place to stay. It was clean & comfortable. In a wonderful location. I liked how quiet & quaint it was. And, the people really made it special. Hendersonville is a friendly town with lots of outdoor activities & great places to shop & great restaurants

My apologies for being so tardy in responding to your review. We have been hard at work closing up some of our rooms in preparation for winter and it was just in time for a 12" accumulation over two days! I truly appreciate your taking your time to submit your review and am so glad you did enjoy our Inn,... More

Pleasant place outside of town w/inn-like feel. Some cabins & smaller motel-room unit. Wifi,in-room coffee, hardwood floors; micro/fridge, large room w/full closet & plenty of drawer storage; small round table and w/chairs & recliner; pretty & charming breakfast room w/fireplace; okay breakfast selections (much better on weekends). Exceptionally reasonable price. Cons: very hard pillows; tv mounted way too high on... More

We always appreciate everyone taking their time to write reviews, that's what makes Trip Advisor work really well for everyone else. You get viewpoints from different angles. That's what I liked about Hits and Misses. Only point I want to make has to do with the sign on front door. Being an 18 room small Inn I feel doing double... More

We stayed at the Cedarwood Inn on a recent trip to the mountains to go apple picking and hike some waterfall trails. We found the inn clean, the room and beds were comfortable, and you can't beat its location. 2 miles to downtown Hendersonville, 3 miles to Sky Top Orchard, and less than 15 minute drive to DuPont State Recreational... The marketing material for this inn is very inviting and the accommodations may be suitable for some people, especially lone travelers. The location is fairly convenient to downtown Hendersonville. The units are cottage-type duplexes with parking right in front of each unit. However, many of the rooms are small and the buildings and furnishings are dated. The staff is friendly... More

My apologies for being tardy in responding to your review. This has been one of the busiest in all my 11 years of operating the Inn. Thank you for your review notes on the CedarWood Inn. This is a 1950's motor court that I have tried to keep furnished and operated as the "Mom and Pop" places were throughout WNC... More

Great atmosphere in this retro-styled motel. Our room was clean and neat, with what appeared to be recent upgrades to the paint, floors, and somewhat recently in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable. This place really feels like a cross between a motel and a bed and breakfast. The owner is very friendly and puts out simple, but far tastier... More

Very rustic but clean and comfortable. I was able to pick my room online and Karen handles the reservation which made it a special touch. They also gave wonderful directions to Sandburg's house, dinner, lunch place and how to get to Lake Lure the easiest way. Lovely, breakfast across the way in her home. What a delightful stay!

I loved your definition of our 1950's Inn. It's actually an old motor court, all rooms ground level and parking right by your room. The feel of it all lends itself to relaxation and then getting out and about our wonderful mountains. Very convenient location, you can get anywhere in WNC within 2 hours. Thank you for taking the time... More

We decided to stay here rather than the usual chain hotels in the area. Our room was clean and comfortable. If you want new, modern, sleek surroundings, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for clean, comfortable and quiet (no "hallway" noises here), this is the place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and the sound... More

Thank you for your wonderful review. I don't know which room you stayed in but one of our buildings has a metal roof. I can't begin to tell you all the wonderful memories rain on a metal roof brings back to me. I have thought of making all the roofs metal...but then fall acorn-dropping season is another story. I am a refugee from being gouged Friday night on a summer weekend by one of the motel chains on I-26. Drove south from town on a road less traveled, Greenville Highway, state route 225, looking for a nice quiet roadside motel. I do not have internet access on the road, This was the second motel at which we stopped.... More

Yes, we do take CH/M (Chain Hotel/Motel) refugees. Only requirement is you have to be open to the 1950's vibe (slower pace of life, willing to meet fellow refugees, enjoy evening sounds sitting on swing out back). Well, we really don't 'require' anything more than a smile or a friendly nod of the head. We just want you to want... More

Karen at the Cedarwood Inn was a gracious host. The cottage rooms are comfortable and clean. A very nice place to stay when visiting Dupont State Park's waterfalls...the free breakfast was good and the coffee hot! She also gave us power bars to sustain us on our hikes!
