I am a refugee from being gouged Friday night on a summer weekend by one of the motel chains on I-26. Drove south from town on a road less traveled, Greenville Highway, state route 225, looking for a nice quiet roadside motel. I do not have internet access on the road, This was the second motel at which we stopped.... More

Karen at the Cedarwood Inn was a gracious host. The cottage rooms are comfortable and clean. A very nice place to stay when visiting Dupont State Park's waterfalls...the free breakfast was good and the coffee hot! She also gave us power bars to sustain us on our hikes! It's like taking a 1960's road trip! Also close to the Asheville... More

This was our third stay at the CedarWood Inn and it was just as delightful as the first two vists. Karen, the inn keeper, makes guests feel so welcome. She serves a simple yet filling breakfast and she is a wealth of information on things to do in the local area. The rooms are clean and comfortable- a very good... More

I think the "family" statute is three visits, so...congratulations, you are family now! Actually, you became family during your first visit. It's always fun to see familiar faces come back and discover more to do in our glorious mountains. And let me tell you, these folks made the very most of their experiences. In my "sit by the fireplace senior... More

I am actually shocked that there are so many positive reviews for this place. Goes to show you can't always trust in the internet. To begin with, we arrived to find the room we had requested musty with what appeared to be dried puke in the bathroom sink. Then upon checking the bed, there was a hair on the pillow.... More

We are sorry you did not have a good experience at our 1950's Inn. Our rooms are prepped just hours before check in including inspecting everything in the bathroom: shower, toilet, sink, floor. Ammenities were stocked, bed was turned down to make sure pillows were clean and bed properly made up. Floor vacumned, all counters and table tops wiped. This... More

The staff was very friendly. The rooms were all decorated in different style and were very comfortable. Karen, the owner, prepared a nice breakfast and visited with us. She told us about the area and interesting facts about it . She also gave us directions to the back country roads that made the drive more enjoyable. We would stay there... More

Thank you for taking the time to submit your comments on our Inn. The original design of the Inn is the a 1950's motor court style. It's a very convenient style for those who want a clean, pleasant place for a quick one night stop or more if you want to experience the WNC area and all it has to... More

Very quiet and secluded. Not far away from interstate and easy to get to. Very clean. Great place to stay just for a night or two away from home. They take firefighter, ems, police and military discount which was nice. TV only had like 11 channels, but we only wanted to watch the weather so it wasn't a big deal... More

I knew as soon as I saw this place it was almost a gosh darn perfect location. Close enough to go and do to your heart's desire, no matter what your interests are. Close enough to relax in a fine or grab-a-bite restaurant to satisfy most everyone. To read that so many of you appreciate the rooms and relaxed atmosphere... More

Such a quiet place with friendly staff. So nice to sit in chairs outside our room, the room smelled fresh, and the breakfast was fresh and tasty. My favorite was the variety of mugs hung on the wall so you can choose which one for drinking a tasty cup of coffee. The accommodations are simple yet nice, no sounds of... More

Thank you for putting into words what I've tried to present with our 1950's experience. I felt I might be holding on to the past to much but when others can appreciate the same qualities it's very rewarding. We all lead such busy lives that we need to "stop and slow down" so we don't miss the little things that... More

I would have been wary of staying here, but I read all the positive reviews and gave it a try, and I'm glad I did. Going back in time a bit, in a good way. Comfortable and clean, if not modern, although with decent internet service. Common areas to hang out, read a book, or chat with the other guests.... More

Thank you for your wonderful comments on our Inn. Your comment about meeting other guests was most rewarding to me. It's the way I remember the fun of travelling and I was very pleased others are also experiencing it at our Inn. More

If your idea of a perfect hotel is a uniformed concierge, complimentary luxury soaps, and branded towels, this is not the place for you. If you value details- knotty pine walls, original to the 50s? door knobs and hinges, vintage metal lawn chairs and an inn keeper who knows your name, this is the place for you. Not a spider... More

I say this all the time, but I REALLY DO APPRECIATE all the great comments on our Inn. For those who did experienced the motor courts/mom and pop places in the 1950's "it's a blast from the past." and a memory jogger. The young family who said with a smile, "I had to teach my child how to dial a... More

When you see an older style motel you don't expect to much. Many of them are run down and people are just trying to milk them for a few more years. Well this place is nothing like that. It's everything a hotel should be. Great service. Fast check in. Everything works. Fast and free internet! Clean. Excellent free breakfast. Really... More
