this was more trouble than it was worth right from the start. instead of fixing the issues, I was given sympathy-seeking reasons to just let it go, and a rude, insulting email from the chef marti that read like he was on his fifth bottle of wine - it made no sense. I truly wonder if I was a political... More

We received a gift from our children for a 2 night stay and cooking class at the Inn of the Patriots in Grover, NC. It is an eclectic B&B, with nicely decorated rooms and delicious breakfasts and really fun cooking class if you opt for this extra. Owners Chef Marti and Chef Stormy made us feel right at home with... More

My wife and myself stayed there March 25, 26 & 27 The food was excellent & the room was comfortable and clean. Very relaxing place to stay. The history thruout the Inn was very interesting. Listening to some of Marti's stories was another highlight of our visit. This a definite place to stay just South of Charlotte. They go out... More

We stayed in the Polynesian room and Marti made us very welcome and took us on a tour of his house and his large collection of Revolutionary war memorabilia, as well as his souvenirs from his time as a White House Chef. In the morning The location was great and only a few miles from Shelby NC which has a... More

The owners are both former Camp David/White House chefs and have turned this B&B in a town (next to Shelby, NC, and not far from Charlotte) that no one has heard of into what they call the Presidential Culinary Museum (and inn). Each room has wall-to-wall (and ceiling to floor) memorabilia from various presidents -- plates, menus, photos etc. Chef... More

This Inn is next on my vacation list, I had some problems with my in-laws overbooking a room and the Inn keeper contacted us and took care of the problem immediately. No fees were charged where the average place would have charged fees regardless. Thanks so much, it’s hard to find empathetic people anymore. Very Veteran friendly, Semper fi

When booking 2 night reservation in early December informed owner Marti that I was traveling with elderly wheelchair bound Mother. He indicated that would not be a problem, but upon arrival realized that The Inn is not ADA equiped and Mother had to be manually lifted up stairs, and the sleigh bed in the room required multiple steps to climb... Our room, The Baby Ruth Room, was what we have come to expect when visiting B & B's, with the exception of the bathroom facilities. The shower was in one tiny closet, the toilet in the other and the sink was across the room. Other than that minor inconvenience, our room and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was always a delight... Long story short. We purchased I believe a wine pairing dinner at a charity auction thinking we would make it down this way at some time. Turned out that we couldn't do the date on the certificate but Marni offered us a goosing class instead We also stated overnight. It was close to our anniversary and our daughter called Marni... The Inn of the Patriots far exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were comfortable; breakfast was very tasty; the cooking class with Chef Marti was lots of fun, with recipes we will definitely repeat at home. It's near the King's Mountain Battlefield, and that tour was very interesting. Marti also has a number of artifacts and other memorabilia from his experience... More
