Had a wonderful time at the Inn. The tour was very informative. The host Marti was great and made us feel very welcome. After the tour we hand picked ingredients from the garden to start our cooking class. The food was superb and the room had great warm and character. The whole experience was very good and I highly recommend... More

We were there Oct.16 and stayed in the Grover Cleveland room. Wish we had gotten there sooner so we could have really looked at all the interesting items that were displayed every where. Some people I noticed in their reviews really disliked that...well for me it was like being Alice in Wonderland except I slid down a little girls doll... More

Marti, the owner, is quite fond of himself and excellent at promoting hype and expectations for his inn, but the reality falls quite short. We were greeted by a decrepit gingerbread house that has clearly seen better days at the front door. The rest of the house was incredibly cluttered and claustrophobic. The room itself was just weird. Our shower... More

We were sorry to have not met your expectations and are happy to offer you another stay on the house, complimentary for you friends! We do publicly advertise that a B&B such as ours has small bathrooms built into each room of our 1879 mansion and that we are not trying to replicate the Hyatt or Hilton (where the pricing... More

This inn has excellent self promotion but the reality falls way short of the mark. Prices are totally out of line for a room with a tiny shared bath the size of a closet. The interior has so much paraphernalia that you feel claustrophobic. The clutter continues in the bedrooms, where every surface has stuff. No way can the inn... More

Dear SueKarJul, We have been sorry to see you act in this manner as you clearly read on our brochures and website that our upper two rooms were a shared bathroom. The usage of an exclamation point serves no purpose as we have intense requests from our European guests exactly for that - "shared bathroom like all of the Bed... More

We bought a coupon, as did everyone else who happened to be staying overnight. The coupon value was greatly inflated for what I thought the "real" value was. The 2 bedrooms upstairs share a tiny bath with the owner and their children. They're nice people but not enough space for an adult. So we skipped having a shower. We overlooked... More

Thank you for staying with us and we appreciate your kindness about enjoying the cooking class. We were unsure why you had selected one of our European rooms upstairs that we advertise as a shared bathroom, due to requests from many Europeans. In Europe most all rooms share the bathroom, especially in Ireland, England and Scotland where they are extremely... More

you have to see this place to believe it. Filled with clutter everywhere. train whistle blaring every hour through the night. Had to share a Tiny bathroom, not only with anjother guest - but the owner, his wife and young daughter. It was unbelieveable. I could not wait for morning to get out of there.

Dear Elizabeth, We were sorry you were unhappy and had selected one of our European rooms upstairs that we advertise as shared bath. We have many requests for them. One can imagine sharing a bathroom is much like going to the office each day or gym, but we realize your feelings about that when you stated, "I have never shared... More

We went to the "Inn of The Patriots" after purchasing a groupon. We stayed in the Grover Cleveland Room on the first floor of the Inn. It was quite large and the king size bed was comfortable. It even had a foot massage machine. We enjoyed breakfast each day, but my favorite dish was the chocolate waffles with the cherry... More

When we arrived to the Inn it was not clear where to park so we went around back. Tried the back door, no answer, went around to front, no answer, had to call owner who was inside somewhere. I agree the amount of stuff plastered on the front door takes away from the charm of the house. I don't mind... More

Thank you so much for your loving kindness about our breakfasts and establishment. We were happy to see you try out our new, $5,000.00 shower in the Cleaveland Room! I could not say your thoughts on the over 2,500 graduates of our cooking school seemed to make much headway with any of our chefs. We did not understand what you... More

The inn was clean and the hospitality was exceptional! Breakfast was the best we have ever had and we done a lot of B&B's. Red Velvet waffles, oh my!!! The Inn is a mini museum and had lots of things from Chef Marti's White House years. We visited the Earl Scruggs Museum in Shelby, also. There's a nice antique shop near... More

The Enn could be a real gem but contains far too much clutter. The owners need to decide if they are running a B&B or a museum. Every inch of the main area and rooms contain far too many collected keepsakes from his career. Even the dinning table was cluttered with keepsakes and non essential items. Parking was in rear...
