The place reminded my of a small fishing hotel. On the water, A deck built around live trees, Bamboo in front of the rooms, etc. The staff was both friendly & helpful. Each room had a decoration theme. The wedding party took up 5 rooms. They were so nice my wife & I purchased a room for the bride &... More

We discovered Barry's by chance. It was one of the places that came up on the Garmin under lodging. I called & spoke to a very pleasant lady. She told me three rooms were available and I could pick the theme I wanted. My choices were: Pirate room, Beach room, or Flower room. We arrived and I chose the Pirate... More

Hell yes! In the last few years, the drive to NC can become an trip worth forgetting. Since finding Barry's, we now leave a day earlier and stay overnight here to make the final leg an easy ride. We plan to get here later in the day and enjoy some ice cold beers, fantastic grub and maybe a band if... More

We came from Pennsylvania and arrived at Barry's weary and exhausted. We were greeted by a very warm and gracious woman who was the co-owner of Barry's. We were in desperate need for some comfort. The room had everything we needed for the one night we stayed on our way to the Outer Banks. The food was like a home-cooked... More

Barry's was our option for avoiding the high cost of rentals in Corolla. We had friends in Corolla for the week and we wanted to visit with them and do some OB travel on our own without paying $300+ a night. Barry's was great. It is not fancy, but clean and a super outdoorsy location right on Currituck sound. Due... More

We visited our son, Joe, in Grandy. He made sure we stayed at Barry's Resort and Restaurant. We were going to stay at a much larger hotel in Kitty Hawk, 13 miles away. That was a great decision. My son visited with his small dog, Maggie. The hotel is very pet friendly, the staff is also very friendly, helpful and... More

The walls were so thin you could hear the man snoring in the next room as if he were in our same bed. Rooms looked like they were build by an amateur carpenter. Band outside the room played till late, lots of people yelling and talking loud so sleep was not to be had. I would never stay there again... More

Your rooms were constructed in 1958 of Heart Pine (a local wood) by local craftsmen and has survived Hurricanes, and NE Storms for more than 50 years, I think the workman ship stands on it own! Your party of 4 failed to mention your comments to the manager, that your dining experience on the outside deck was WONDERFUL,the view of... More

We stayed at Barry's July 19. The place is really cool and a great value. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing time. It is right on the sound and close to conveniences. Their food was great too and the staff is super sweet. Thanks for a nice evening. If you are expecting a huge, hotel chain feel, you... More

We were told to stay here by our co-workers- The best food ever (try the crab dip and the BLT) The best bar, and the Southwestern decor room was awesome- I've traveled for years and this is the first ever room that had an extremely comfortable bed with sheets that were deep pocketed matching the decor- The restaurant had great... In May of 2014 I was house-sitting for my daughter and son-in-law who live up the road from Barry's. I've always thought it had a great location, right on the sound. So, I thought I'd try it out. I went for dinner alone one night and had scallops in bacon. Very good. Priced well and satisfying. However, when the children... More

Glad you enjoyed Barry's Good Service, ambiance, main dishes, and prices. I try very hard to give personal southern hospitality and service . As to the side dishes, we do use real Idaho potatoes most of the time, but when we run short we do use Idaho Potato Pearls so that customers can be served the side dish of their... More
