A friend and I decided last minute to take a weekend trip to the OBX. After looking at hotels, almost everything was either sold out for a Saturday night or was expensive. I researched other options on TripAdvisor and found Frisco Woods Campground. I am so glad we found this gem of a place because we will be returning the... More

Was our fourth year in a row staying at Frisco Woods Campground. The owner was very kind and helpful to us as well as his employees in the midst of an impending hurricane evacuation. Sunsets are beautiful every night. I recommend staying in sites C18 - C24. Amazing to stay there for two whole weeks. Newly revamped and climate controlled... More

Sadly, this is true. Our dog was attacked by another (unleashed) dog while my young daughter was holding our dog's leash. I tried to speak with the owner. He refused to help beyond giving the other dog owner a reminder. He stepped uncomfortably and threateningly close to me. He raised his voice several times saying that he is NOT responsible... More

Owner refunded this guests money (which he was not obligated to do) told them to file a police report and take their pet to the veterinarian in order to start a legal claim against the other pet owner. There was nothing further the owner could do under the circumstances. More

This was the first time we had been to the OBX. Staying a Frisco Woods was nice. Our site was in very close proximity to the sound. We were able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets without leaving our camping site. The staff was friendly. Due to circumstances Frisco Woods allowed us to pay for just a few nights at a... More

We spent 3 nights here. We visited the 3rd week of June and the weather was great. Our site was on the sound with full hook up, and we stayed in a 27 ft camper. Everyone seemed really nice. The only problems were some of the sites were smaller but ours was right on the end on the beach and... More

We spent four nights here. We brought a 30ft travel trailer to a sound front site B11. Pros: nice view, full hook up including sewer, Good Sam discount. Cons: Wifi is horrible. Staff was not very knowledgeable or personable. Sites offered little privacy and were too close together

Have stayed at Frisco woods about 8 of 14 years in going to OBX. Always tent camp and while there have been a few incidents of rowdy groups the management continues to keep order. This year we saw marked improvements to the bathhouses and grounds. Even newly remodeled ones by the pool. Love that dogs must be on leash as... More

I love this place. My husband and I spent our whole Honeymoon here and loved it. I hear they have renovated the bath houses. GOOD! We stay int he cabins when we go. Beach access right across the street and when you get back to the campground at night you can walk far out into the sound.Cannot wait to go... More

We wanted a quiet place to camp and this has been nice. They have property right on the Pamlico Sound and a place to launch kayaks. They have kayak rentals and a nice property with various kinds of campsites and shaded areas too. The folks in the office/store are helpful too.

I’ve stayed at a few campgrounds on the Outer Banks, though was not ready for the scene that awaited me on my first trip to Frisco Woods. Redneck Circus is the only way I can describe it; it was a perfect storm of the campground overselling, having extremely small campsites (right on top of each other) and being a holiday... More
