I was having my home remodeled for the week and decided to check in to Sapphire for a room. "What are you here for, the car show, the gem show, or to visit family," snapped the desk clerk. I told her that I'm having my home worked on and would like accommodations for the night. "No locals, do you hear,"... More

My wife and I spent the night on 6/21/14 while taking a scenic drive through the area. Hampton Inn only had a full size accessible room for $99. Quality Inn only had smoking rooms avaliable so we just rode down the road and came upon this motel. Got a room with 2 queens for $62 with tax. The room was... More

I enjoy the country life and good old southern hospitality. The owners are personable and sweet. The hotel is very affordable. The understanding is there, that the middle class population tries to have a "good time vacationing" also. I really hope any new comers see this as well. God Bless.

The lady who checked us in was very nice & accomodating. The room was old & average, beds were terrible. That's the worst thing about it. Best thing was location, there was a restaurant nearby called Ms. Lois's, amazing country food at a great price!

Stayed 3/21/14, we had a King on the second floor. This is an older hotel, don't expect it to be brand new, it's not, the room was clean, and neat. We had no problems and the beds and linens were clean. Typical for the price. Don't be afraid, you need a place after being on the road all day this... More

Other than having a nice guy, Fred, working at the Sapphire, this place is a dump! If you own a place you have to invest money back into it to keep the condition up and this place is simply terrible. The first room I checked into had a stopped up sink so I went to the office and was moved... More

We have stayed and reviewed Sapphire before, and while Franklin is a great overnight location I fear this will be our last stay here. We were in Room 1 and it was better than Room 4 from the previous stay, but there was no Kleenex in the bathroom and they quit serving coffee in the mornings (may be a blessing... More

I will start by saying we have stayed at this location for est. 20+ years in October. Every year, for the last few years the repair of the rooms have constantly diminished.... along with the kindness of the staff. Upon arriving (after dark) after a 9 hour motorcycle journey to the motel, I turn down the sheets to find that... More

A very good place for hikers and Fred is A Ok in my book. Very hiker friendly and for the price you get what you need. Older and not deluxe but a nice rest. Roaches? not on my stays. A free shuttle is provided to hikers to and from the Appalachian Trail and free shuttles to town in the afternoons.

Impolite and rude evening manager Fred. We checked into two separate rooms and were told we could pay when we checked out. After dinner and showering we were interrupted by a second manager, Fred, telling us we had to pay on the spot. Shocked, I handed the manager my credit card, he returned 10 minutes later with the receipt. I... More
