We had a very good time at Fontana Village Resort. Overall, it was a great fall destination for our family, which included two adults and 3 children under 6. We stayed in the Lodge rather than the cabins after hearing about uneven experiences there. Our rooms were a great value for the money -- nice beds, etc. and while the... more

We stayed in a Willow cabin (one bedroom) for three nights. Loved the covered front porch (it rained the whole time). One of the rocking chairs was broken, and none of the outside lights worked. The Grill restaurant was closed for the season, so we ate all our meals at the cabin. Glad I took lots of groceries; it was... more

I took a trip to Fonatana Resort to give my parents a chance to get away. There were 5 of us in one of the 2 bedroom cabins. The location was awesome. Some of the most beautiful views of the mountains and lake that I've ever seen. I was reminded of the setting from "Dirty Dancing" in the make up... more

My family (2 adults & 1 7 yr old) stayed for a week in the round top (Yurt). We were admittedly spoiled by the excellent accommodations. But other wise the grounds and facilities were great! There was plenty to do and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We went boating on fantana lake, the Dam is a great site... more

We stayed at Fontana Village for 5 days in a Willow cabin. It is the smallest cabin they offer, 1 bedroom. The accommodations were decent. They are not luxurious, but they are clean and comfortable. The staff at the Village was polite and accommodating. We got everything we asked for. There are some obvious management issues within the Village, as... more

We just returned from a family reunion at Fontana Village. The group consisted of 14 adults, 3 teens or tweens, and 1 child. We stayed the majority of the time in basic Lodge rooms (2 Queens or 1 King bed), then the remaining 7 of us moved to a 3 bedroom Cabin for the last night of our trip. To... more

We camped at the resort, the staff was rude, we had wasp nest all under our picnic area and the desk just advised us that we probably could buy some spay at the market. The grass was knee high and they said they would inquire on when it may be cut. You can use the pool, but its at the... more

The area is beautiful; the drive on NC28 (the 'dragon's tail') is awesome. However, my wife suffers from motion sickness and found the ride nauseating. This may sound trivial, but everyplace you may want to go- zip lining, tubing, white water rafting- will require 30min to 1.5 hr trips in the car- a lot of it on NC28! So if... more

This is a resort which has been around for a long time, and is making a bit of a comeback. It is not a five star resort, but is a beautiful location, and some nice and improving facilities. We stayed 3 nights in a 2 BR, 2 BA cabin, which was small, but did have a kitchen and fireplace. We... more

My boyfriend and I traveled to this resort in late June. We were so disappointed in our accomodations, that we chose to leave 2 days earlier than planned. The room was dirty and had bugs in it. The food at the inn restaurant was much too expensive, for its quality. This is such a beautiful, area of the state. It... more
