Really enjoyed our time there! Fabulous breakfasts, pet friendly downstairs, great tour/restaurant recommendations! My only concern was, at least with my hearing, visits by our very friendly host to put stuff in the fridge/freezer in our refrigerator, without any notice. I could have been naked, much to his and my embarrassment! Would have appreciated a knock or notice that he... More

I've stayed at the Acorn B&B twice and this is where I will land any time I take a break in Asheville. It's comfortable, reasonable, and the food is excellent. Bob and Gene are wonderful, thoughtful, friendly hosts. The rooms are charming and comfortable. The fact that it is a little bit out of the way makes it all the... More

Gene is the keeper of "his" bed and breakfast. He takes a personal interest in being sure that any person that passes through his doors comes out feeling special. The chocolate acorns, the cookies left on the dresser in the evening, the welcoming morning breakfast and the friendly conversation were all part of something warm and unforgettable. Extra special treats... More

Well it took us a couple of years of traveling before I ended up in a place worth 5 stars, but I found it! We spent 1 night only here, but we'll definitely remember it! The B&Bs location is a bit remote, it's best to get there by car. To get to a restaurant, you need to drive at least... More

My husband I stayed for two nights in early October 2013. Our hosts, Gene and Bob, made our stay wonderful. The breakfasts we had were excellent and the homey touches--cookies, gourmet chocolates, fresh flowers, robes, upscale toiletries--made our stay even more special. Gene and Bob have thought of everything! We will be back!!

What a great escape; a great alternative to a hotel. Great hosts, with conversation, excellent breakfasts, and attention to detail! Close proximity to all the Asheville has to offer as well. The setting is serene and quiet, it's rare to experience such a place.

My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with our stay. Gene & Bob's service and hospitality was extraordinary. Gene makes the best (and most impressive) breakfast and treats anywhere. Come to breakfast with a huge appetite! Lodging was very nice and clean. Our room was very spacious. They also do lots of special touches to make your stay special, as... More

I cannot recommend staying at Acorn enough. That is unless it becomes fully booked year round then I'm going to be upset. The hosts, Gene and Bob, go out of their way to make you feel at home. We arrived to find our names written on the welcome sign and fresh baked, scrumptious cookies in our beautifully appointed room. Breakfast... More

I had the opportunity to stay at Acorn Bed and Breakfast near Ashville, North Carolina while on a brief vacation. It is very close to the main gate of the Biltmore House nestled in the woods. The home is clean, quiet and furnished with all the amenities you could want. The hosts are gracious and non-intrusive and make an excellent... More

We stopped over in NC on our way to Charleston and Savannah. Gene, at the Acorn Bed and Breakfast at Mills River, was so nice to us. We had a 'Welcome Home' sign waiting for us out front when we drove up. Even though the weather was cold and dreary, Gene made our stay there feel so warm and comfortable.... More
