We had an awesome time at the complex, clean pools, grounds kept up nicely! We would stay at this complex again in a heartbeat, but not this unit! The housekeeping staff must have done next to nothing as it was not the cleanest (maybe get another cleaning service). The location of this unit is the best in the complex!! Awesome... More

We have stayed at Sound of the Sea many times over the last 10 years. I have stayed in both of the buildings and they both have fantastic views. They have 2 pools (one is only open after September) and two ways to walk to the beach. It is very convenient to shopping, grocery store and places to eat. We... More

Condos are all independently owned and upgraded, so your individual experience will vary on the unit. Our unit was last updated in the 90s, but was clean and well-maintained. One bedroom's closet housed the air handler and was exceptionally noisy, making that room pretty difficult to sleep in. The beds varied from "fine" to "rock-hard." I'd give the unit itself... More

We stayed in 202W. The views of the sea were gorgeous. The condo was very clean and had plenty of extras we didn't expect. (dishwasher tabs, garbage bags, extra toilet paper). The beds were very hard and the master bed faces the balcony and the vertical blinds do a terrible job of keeping the morning sun out. We were awake... More

Apparently this place is in the flight path of the local Marine base. It's 10:18pm and the Harriers have been flying over ever 10 minutes for the past hour. The room, unit 302, needs work. Terrible paint job, front door needs replaced, kitchen cabinets are like cardboard, replace the mirrors and all of the closet doors throughout. It just feels... More

Just got back from our vacation to Emerald Isle where we stayed at Sound of the Sea. The views from the balcony were amazing and the conc was in excellent condition. Our condo was on the 3rd floor and there were no elevators which made it difficult to carry our luggage up and down to unload and pack the car.... More

Wasn't overly impressed but was definately satisfied. Can't beat the location. Clean, private area with a good level of pricing. Overall was pleased, it's a quality place. Only downside is the beds we were in were like rocks, but that could be condo specific.

We stayed in the Sound of the Sea Condominiums in the West Building (which is closer to the ocean) and has fantastic views of the beach. The condo was clean, large and well-equipped. When we arrived, we found that the balcony door did not lock. We called maintenance and they arrived within 15 minutes and were friendly and helpful. The... More

My husband and I just returned from a week at Sound of the Sea #104North (1 bedroom unit). We found our unit through vrbo.com. The condo complex was really nice – great pool (2, actually), showers by the beach, gated entry, plenty of parking and easy access to the beach (maybe 2 minutes). It is also located across the street... More

My family is used to European vacation apartments, and this one (415W) fit the bill. Two generous sized bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 baths, WiFi, elevator, laundry in the apartment, and a good view/ breeze from the balcony. What more could you want? We didn't bother with the extra $ for the beach front, as the complex is angled so... More
