I stayed here for a two-night business stay The hotel is located at Duke's campus. So location is great if that is where you want to be. The room was very nice and clean. Bed was not comfortable. Did not sleep well either night. Every staff member I encountered was helpful and courteous. Had dinner in the Bull Durham bar.... More

We recently attended an event at The Washington Duke and found it to be beautiful. Filled with history and southern charm, this hotel does not disappoint. Unlike other hotels nearby, there is ample parking, a definite plus. The grounds are kept up beautifully. The service is top-notch all around - restaurants, check-in, all of it. I can't think of a... I have only great things to say about this property. The location (so close to Duke University) is primo. There is abundant, complimentary self-parking, the welcome at the Front Desk was warm, and the rooms were clean and very well appointed. The Inn is elegant, but not at all stuffy; if it weren't so far away from my home, I... More

This was my second visit to the Washington Duke. Each time has been delightful. If you are visiting Duke University, there really is no better place to stay. It is right across from campus. The rooms are gorgeous, the lobby is beautiful, and the staff is phenomenal. It has such an elegance and Southern charm. The bar is named the... More

This hotel is beautiful. The rooms are quite large, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the location stellar. We walked from the hotel to Cameron Indoor Stadium for the basketball game. Everywhere you turn there are tributes to the Duke family - portraits, sculptures, photos - which makes this hotel feel really special and unique.

This Inn is by far one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. It is like the baby brother of the Grove Park Inn (without the spa). The grounds, common areas, restaurants and staff are all well designed and elegant. Very friendly atmosphere. The room was large with two comfortable chairs, plenty of space to work at the desk.... I journeyed to Durham for a family event. The Washington Duke provided us with a 5th floor accommodation that overlooked the parking area. We were not disrupted by any noise however and the amazing room darkening draperies allowed us to sleep on comfortably. We used the workout room and found it stuffed with plenty of equipment; we liked the pool... More

My husband had a doctor's appointment up in Durham, and we stayed at the Washington Duke. This gem was a complete surprise. I would put it up with the Waldorf-Astoria, in terms of elegance, and our room was much nicer. Gorgeous grounds, quiet rooms and great dining options make this a great hotel. Need a getaway with the guys? The... More

I lived in a fantasy during my too-short stay at the "Wa-Duke" as the locals and well-traveled prefer to call it. I truly embraced my inner WASP and could walk free from judgement with my Ralph Lauren Black Label Mitered V-Neck Cable Cashmere sweater tied around my shoulders. In all honesty, I stayed here for my friend's wedding in August... More

The location is not convenient to the city. The rooms are dated. the golf course is nice. The only reason you would stay here is for the golf course or going to a Duke event.
