As mentioned elsewhere, the University Inn is not a typical hotel. I was in town on vacation but most folks here seemed involved with one of the many Duke hospitals. So it's not fancy, but my king bed room is one of the largest hotel rooms I've ever had. The washer and dryer were welcomed after a couple of weeks... More

If you have business at Duke University or the hospital for a couple of days this is a good place to stay. it is easy walking distance to the hospital so you won't have to worry about finding a place to park at the hospital. the hotel and rooms are clean. the bed was clean and comfortable. the staff are... It is difficult to say how really important it has been for my wife and I to stay at University Inn at Duke. It is extremely close to all medical clinics and the hospital. This wonderful place has very large rooms with comfortable beds, and furniture. Every room has a micro fridge and a nice flat-screen television. The bathroom is... More

My wife and I stayed on night recently here while I was visiting Duke Medical Center. The hotel is vry close to the Duke facility and a complimentary shuttle runs all the time. We had a king room with fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Best of all the stay was only $83... More

We were in town from out of state to see a specialist at Duke. We were hoping for a shuttle to the hotel from the airport so that we wouldn't have to rent a car, but that isn't offered since the airport is 20 minutes from the hotel. If you call ahead, the hotel does have a cab driver who... More

This was my second time I've stayed here for a medical appointment at Duke. My mom and I stayed for 4 nights. Like the last time, the rooms were spotless. All three shifts of the staff were friendly as they got to know me as I have insomnia and went outside at all hours of the night to go smoke.... More

Booked last minute as got an appointment at Duke last minute. My husband and I got the 2 double bed room so we could have our own beds so I could try to get a good nights sleep. The room was really big and very clean. The TV was good sized. We used the wifi for our phones which was... More

Understand before you book, that University Inn is a clean but very dated hotel about a block from the hospital. The rooms are large, untouched by a decorator since the 80's, small TV, a sitting area near the beds. The complimentary breakfast is limited-select from yogurt, cereal and little pastries (and coffee). I had to cut my stay short due... More

My husband and I stayed here mid February for a week so he could see a specialist at Duke. The hotel was more than adequate with extremely clean and large rooms and it's very convenient to the hospital. It's biggest downfall is the tiny parking lot. Really not enough space to even turn without the threat of car damage, which... More

I made my decision to stay at The University Inn instead of The Brookwood Inn based on the fact University offered free breakfast and Brookwood did not. The room rates differed by $5. Breakfast turned out to be cold cereal, pastry and yogurt. No fruit, bagels etc. If you are looking for just a bed, The University is adequate. Outdated,... More
