We stayed at Duke Towers for three nights when we dropped our daughter off as a freshman at Duke University, and for three nights when she graduated. During her four years at Duke, we stayed at 4 or 5 other hotels, all the way from low-end freeway motels to the higher end luxury hotels. Duke Towers is the place we... More

We have stayed at Duke Tower several times to visit family nearby in Durham. Its biggest draw for us is the pool. It has been closed for a week. High acid levels??? There does not seem to be any interest from Management to reopen in a timely manner.Premium rooms have a bit of pergo flooring not sure what else qualifies... More

A bunch of us stayed at Duke Tower a couple of nights for a wedding in Durham and found this conveniently located combination of hotel and condos very comfortable, with a well-appointed kitchen, good reading light (which is often a problem) -- a suite, really, of living room and bedroom. King size bed, two tvs so that my husband and... More

This was at least my fifth stay at Duke Tower, each time for 2-4 weeks, since 2007. Pluses include a spacious one bedroom condo with serviceable kitchen and room to socialize. Great beds. Nice staff. Wonderful pool and courtyard. Provides a homey feel ... Not a hotel feel. Minuses include the aging rooms, including HVAC and water issues, nonfunctional Internet,... More

Thank you for staying with us all these years. However, I'm sorry if our amenities did not live up to your expectations -- we'll keep your feedback in mind as we move forward. As for the check-in confusion, I'm also sorry if the service you received wasn't as satisfactory as it should have been. I know it's been a few... More

We had to go to Duke regional for a surgery of mine so it wasn't a vacation, but I found these rooms at this hotel and it looked much more comfortable than a regular hotel. They also had a medical discount. The courtyard was awesome and they had a giant chess board and putt putt for my daughter while I... More

We were there due to a family medical emergency and needed a short-term stay for a couple of weeks. The first room we were placed in (Room 131) had a horrible smell when we walked it. I assumed it was a cleaning solution. But when we came back that night it was still strong. Exhausted we went to bed and... More

This was a great little find. Built in an old textile mill but with a classy courtyard, in many ways epitomises the gritty elegance of Durham itself. Nothing classy but very functional and reasonably priced. The hotel is situated fairly close to everything in Durham (but then again, I think most everything is situated close to everything in Durham), 5... More

Very clean, rustic, older facility with nice community feel. Just not for me. Never felt 100% safe. We were on the first floor near the parking lot entrance, a lot of noise. Beautiful pool. Neighbors mostly medical families having treatment at duke.

Our 1-bedroom condo was clean. The furnishings and fixtures are old and dated, but everything worked. Our kitchen had only minimal dishes and silverware, just enough for our family to have a meal. We made good use of the laundry room. The pool was lovely, the location is good, and the price is right. Just don't expect luxury.

We stayed at Duke Tower for four nights in June 2014. It is a really cozy and comfortable place to stay, with a lovely courtyard and a relaxed feel. We enjoyed the spacious room, the reliable wifi, and the comfortable bed. We also really appreciated having self-serve laundry facilities onsite, and a nice pool to cool off in before bed.... More
