We stayed here the first week of October. It was horrible. The condo's were old and run down. Mold in the bathrooms. I felt like I was being bitten the entire time we were there. The indoor pool was run down and the jacuzzi was out of order. We even left a day early. I would definitely stay away from... More

Apt had stained carpet , 1/2 bath was outside in the hall, to be shared with other units. The dryer was extremely noisy, no response from maintenance. Smelly, lots of flies. Chunk of concrete covering stain on deck.

While we love the location and Duck is such a quaint town, we will not return to Barrier Island Station in Duck. It is in terrible need of renovation and repair. It is all wood with LOTS of stairs. These stairs are steep and narrow. Screws/nails coming up, so be careful if you are barefoot on the decks, walkways and... More

Although we had to climb the stairs to our 3rd floor one bedroom condo -- 606B (the stairs became easier by the time we had to leave though), it was really nice there. It was such a relaxing place and I loved the little patio where we ate a couple of dinners as well enjoyed our morning beverages. Yes, it... More

I will post pictures of our unit G4 at Barrier Island Station, which will speak for themselves and I won't have to write a long review. First picture - every sliding door tract and window sill was full (now just a few) of dead bugs and dirt upon our arrival. Second picture - what our body looked like after our... More

This was our fifth stay at BIS Duck since 2009. There is clear evidence of improvements and we found our particular unit, 718A, to be very clean this year. This is a timeshare community, which some folks don't seem to realize when they make a reservation. While this is not our home resort, we book extra weeks here through RCI.... More

My wife and I met our family at Barrier Island for an event. We arrived Friday and prmptly left Saturday. The rooms are dated and filthy, most screens in the windows were full of large holes and the air conditioning worked sporadically. Then Saturday morning we found a few dead roaches in the livingroom. Later that evening we arrived back... More

We gave up trying to use WiFi for our laptops. Weak, poor connection that dropped off the entire week we were there. Management hasn't changed the password since Wi-Fi was installed and even stupidly printed it on their resort literature, so now everyone in Duck knows the password. We talked to other guests at poolside and the WiFi was their... More

We've been here for the past four years and I think we're finally tired of putting up with this place. Every year we come to Duck and every year something new is added to the town. It may be the broadwalk being extended or a new and exciting activity but Duck, NC manages to keep itself interesting year after year.... More

I just came home after spending a week here. While you are not getting luxury here, it was, for the most part, clean (with the exception of a little popcorn under the couch) and provided us with what we needed. We had both A&B units because we had a party of 9 and the place provided more than enough space..much... More
