We've never returned to the same place twice in a year and especially not in 6mos. Our Springtime trip in April was so relaxing we traveled back down from New York for another week long stay. You can't put a price on the relaxation and the solace you'll discover. Before you go- stop in Asheville at the awesome WNC Farmers... More

I am grateful for the Groupon Coupon leading me here! My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Papa bear cabin. INCREDIBLE craftsmanship is evident throughout the restoration of this cabin. The cabin is a wonderful mix of antiques and modern conveniences (the gas range and large refrigerator). Driving the gravel road to the cabin, the smell of... More

We rented two nights in papa bear cabin, thru Groupon, was glad to find the cabin. There was 4 adults and a toddler. The stairs to the upper stair bedroom, was narrow and steep, with our daughters cat allergies we had to shoo the cat away from the cabin often. Still we Enjoy our time, the porch to sit &... More

I found this little gem of a place on Groupon and was delighted. My husband and I went for a long weekend and could not have been happier with this place. We stayed in the Papa Bear cabin and the cabin and view were fantastic. I planned to read while I was there but I just could not pick up... More

The cabin was immaculate, charming and fully equipped. The hosts were gracious and the animals delightful. The beauty of the spot unspoiled and improved by the touches that the owners added. Although we chose to simply enjoy the beauty of the spot by picking black berries, walking the property and rocking on the porch, there are numerous opportunities for all... More

My husband and I along with another couple stayed in Poppa Bear. It was breathe taking! I felt as if I walked back into 19th century. The animals were a treat and loving and the owner are the best people you could ever meet. Very enjoyable and peaceful in middle of nowhere therefore relaxing on front porch was lovely

It has been a full month since my husband and I stayed in Papa Bear cabin. I have given much thought to how to write this review. I have come to the conclusion that I do not have enough talent to adequately describe how amazing our experience was. We loved the cabin. It was the perfect mix of rustic and... More

This place is awesome they are such great people. This is the cleanest cabin I have every stayed at. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. Cabins are decorated from the heart. The builder put so much thought in them. It is perfect for a romantic or family trip.

Where do you begin when your stay exceeded your expectations? Warm, cozy, peaceful, the rustic accommodations are new with an old school appearance. Thoughtful amenities (dish washer, kitchen utensils, hair dryer, linens, grill) made this an easy choice as well as its proximity to I-40 and Waynesville. The highlight for us, of course, was Brutus, a spirited chocolate lab who... More

Found this little hidden gem on vrbo, and as soon as I saw the listing I knew this was the cabin for us, and it didn't disappoint! You will drive a few scenic miles off the I-40 to get to it, and I would suggest the first time getting there you arrive during the day, unless you are familiar with... More
