This isn't luxury, it isn't fancy, it's a basic room at a basic price. It IS along a beautiful river with a private balcony view from our room, and the pool at the hotel across the street is free for our use. The fridge freezer worked well, the water was hot and the beds were comfortable. The other patrons were... More

Let me start off by saying we already had a room in Cherokee, but when we saw a Rottweiler being led up to the second floor and the hotel is by a creek, we though we would check out the pet policy and rates. My husband went in and proceeded to tell the hostess that we were travelling with our... More

If you are looking for fancy and all the amenities then look elsewhere. The beds were more comfortable than I thought they would be. It was fairly clean except for finding a used coffee stir on the floor and the shelf above the hanging rod, it was filthy. Having a private balcony overlooking the river was a bonus. The bathroom... The people there are very nice and I love the river sounds and the ducks .We stayed there overnight in May of this year and 2 years ago. There was an beaver by the river this time, that was awesome .We plan to go back again next year !!

This is my second time staying here and I loved it both times. The rooms are clean, odor free and the sheets smelt wonderful. And the best part of all is the private covered balconies with rocking chairs overlooking the river. There are also large windows looking out on the river. There are no windows on the street side helping... More

Pros: Bobbie at the front was very nice. Loved the top floor overlooking the river and rocking chairs on balcony. Coffee in the room. Walking distance to many stores and restaurants. Cons: Thought the rate was a little high for the time of year. No signal on cell phone. Water in shower never got hot and beds were very uncomfortable.... More

This was a great place to stay. Very close to the casino. Road construction was being done but was tolerable. Nice rooms and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast wasn't the best, all they had to offer was honey buns. So expect to eat out or get a suite with a kitchenette to cook your own. But over all a food place... More

My husband and I drove to Cherokee after the Martinsville race. It was our anniversary. We enjoyed our stay is an older motel. If you are expecting the Ritz or a chain hotel, you will be disappointed. But our room was clean and we loved the balcony by the river with the rocking chairs.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Older hotel but room was very clean and the service was very nice and friendly. The location was very good. Will stay here again. Its not an upscale ritzy place but clean and good price for the location.

I usually don't stay in Mom & Pop hotels as I fear they are not clean, but this one was a pleasant surprise. It is directly opposite the much more expensive Comfort Suite Inn. My non-smoking room had no trace of cigarette smoke. I liked the thick pile (clean) carpet on the floor. The room was clean and tidy and... More
