This primitive campground is the perfect place to escape. Nearly every campsite has a spectacular view since it is located on a ridge. I wasn't too fond of the fee ($10 extra for every person over 4 pr site) but other than that it was wonderful. Hot showers are the only amenity. No electricity at all, even in the restroom.... More

We recently visited this campsite with our 3 year old daughter, and it was a lovely experience for all. The few cons I'd like to mention are: 1. It really is VERY high up, so drivingback up the mountain from your hiking trails can be a bit shaky. The fog/mist settles extremely quickly, and at times we couldn't see more... More

My son and I went there on a bike trip. Before we got our tent set up there were two elk walked through our campsite. The veiws from this place are unreal. Our camp host was Lynn , she was super nice, treated us like family . This is not a KOA, it IS primitive camping but the restrooms and... More

this campground is so amazing. the views you see from each campsite it breathtaking. and late at night or early in the morning you can drive down the road and see elk. and if you drive up to the top of the mountain just past the campground there is the best spot to see the sunset.

This is a beautiful primitive campground with great views and frequent visits from the local elk population. It is primitive. Note that. It's not a KOA or Holiday Inn campground. but, if you want some space between you and your fellow camper, if you want to wake up on top of the mountain (world) this is the place. It does... More

Wonderful staff, easy checking in and amazing views. We had site 24, overlooking spectacular views. Watched the Elk in the morning not far from the office. Very glad we checked out the camp site, and if you want the total rustic experience with genuinely nice people running it and to feel away from it all, then this is the place... More

We have been going to Mile High for many years now. Always the most relaxing point of the year and a great place to escape the summer heat! Our dogs love the fresh crisp mountain air and the friendly folks we always meet at the campground. The annual Dutch Oven Gathering left me with a full belly, a new pot,... More

We camped at spot T1 with a family of 6 including 3 teens age 18, 15,13, and a 10 year old. The camp spots were not enormous but just right. The do have fire... More

Just got home from Mile High today, ready to go back already! It was beautiful! Nice cool weather on the mountain, bring extra blankets for the bed! The hot showers are great too! We will definitely be back!
