We checked in late (midnight-ish) with no issues at all. We were there for an athletic event. As I chatted with the desk clerk, I mentioned my child had a recent ankle injury. The clerk immediately stopped and changed our room. We were going to be in a 3rd floor room. He was thoughtful enough to look for a room... More

Road construction makes the hotel difficult to access (extending rail from Uptown). The first room was dirty with a broken door frame (felt unsafe- lock was damaged, etc.). I was moved to a anotehr room upon request without issue. The front desk clerk actually helped me with my luggage! The room was clean but this is a no-frills joint. Traffic... More

Thank you for taking time to review your stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Charlotte University Research Park. I would like to apologize for the current construction going on out front as the city is building a light rail system down the middle of North Tryon Street, which has made access to the hotel difficult. The resulting lawsuit between... More

If you want to enjoy your stay at this Residence Inn ... well, you probably won't enjoy it. The floors creak. The air conditioning has to be turned on manually by having the front desk clerk come into your room to remove a ceiling tile and turn a valve in the closet. To make things worse, there is construction just... More

It is a typical older style Residence inn and even though it is a clean hotel, it certainly shows its age. Right now the single access through Tryon is really painful because of the future tram construction.

I was here on a repeat business trip and a repeat stay at this hotel. There were no issues as usual staying at a Marriott brand hotel. The hotel is in a quiet business park with gas and food near by. This hotel is on my list of hotels I recommend to my customers when I'm here in Charlotte NC... More

Rooms were showing their age. The bed was actually comfortable, but otherwise the room looked pretty well worn. Carpet needed a cleaning and the room's heater wasn't working. Breakfast was average, although better than I've had elsewhere. Though not the hotel's fault, the street outside of the hotel is being torn up for a light rail line. That created a... More

Scott2211, Thank you for taking time to review your stay at the Residence Inn Charlotte University Research Park. Due to the construction currently going on with the City of Charlotte's light rail project, our renovation had to be delayed due to some logistic issues with the city. Once these issues are resolved we look forward to implementing some exciting changes... More

Spent 4 nights here for dirt race weekend. This isn't one of Marriotts better hotels. The breakfast is typical of Marriots. It needs upgrading as carpet is lumping up, interior door needs cleaning and/ or painting. Guests who party all night, not respecting people who have to get up early etc. Never stay here again!

I have stayed at this hotel twice. I thought the first time was an anomaly, but my second time was just as bad. The rooms are old with peeling paint, and generally do not live up to the Marriott brand. I would stay anywhere else!!!

Let me start by saying the staff is fantastic! The hotel is not. It might even compare to a Motel standard but bottom of the line. It is high time it got completely torn down. Rooms are dingy, the carpet is dirty, and there is a LOT of construction going on. I could have basically chosen anything around there and... More

My husband I were in town for a wedding and our anniversary and we stayed here for 4 nights. We arrived about an hour early and the front desk did not hesitate to allow us an early check-in.
