I dance professionally and had to do a job in Charlotte. The hotel is downtown so it is close to a lot of food.Once we got there the staff was very friendly. The room was pretty small and it was supposed to have double bed but it ended up just having a pull out couch. Due to the fact that... More

We just got back from a two night stay at the Dunhill, and cannot say enough about it. The staff were excellent, right down to the maids! We came in on the train and were picked up at the station. Any place we needed to go, the took us. The breakfast was European style and wonderful. Looking forward to another... More

We stayed at the Dunhill and had a Blast. This place is a historic hotel with a super location and the lobby bar was a 'Hit"! Peter, the bartender made us feel right at home! We will be staying here again while visiting Uptown Charlotte!!

This historic hotel is a hidden gem. The location is perfect to shops, night life and activities. The Ashbury restaurant is stellar. Try the pimento burger. Rooms are nicely appointed and service is spot on.

I surprised my husband by booking us for two nights at the Dunhill for Christmas. While we thoroughly enjoyed spending Christmas in uptown Charlotte, the hotel was somewhat of a disappointment. Maybe with limited staff during the holidays, we should have booked at a different time. When we returned from dinner and a Christmas Eve church service (around 9 pm),... More

Dear Car0linaTravelers, We're sorry that not having the self-serve tea and coffee bar in the lobby after 8:00 PM negatively impacted your experience. Though we remove the coffee and hot water carafes at night, we are a full service property and our 24-hour concierge would have been happy to accommodate your request if we had been made aware of it.... The queen size bed is really a double size bed. I left an item in the room after check out. I've made three requests and no response. Breakfast was disgusting. The cocktail party in the evening gets out of hand.

Dear Texan700, We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please rest assured that the beds were queen, as advertised. And after first learning of the missing item via your e-mail on Friday morning, Dec. 26, we immediately looked for the item and responded. We appreciate having an opportunity to resolve any guest concerns during the... More

we stayed at the dunhill....for a long birthday weekend celebration. We had never been to charlotte before and we were not there to shop, so we found the location perfect. We walked to the museums and symphony. The mattress on our queen size bed was way too soft, every time my husband moved the littlest bit, the bed did too, totally... More

So parking was fine, check in went well but she forgot to validate my parking ticket so if I had not remembered at checkout would have cost me another $12 (she did tell me that was the charge at check-in). Apparently for $225/night they do not have any bellmen. Arriving in my room I sought out an ice bucket. Looked... More

Dear Foodandwine60, I'm sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. As a full service hotel, we take pride in serving our guests instead of them having to serve themselves. It sounds like there were some missed opportunities on our part, and for that, I apologize. There are some quirks being an historic property--like temperature control being limited to... More

We recently spent a few days at this wonderful olde worlde hotel in the heart of Charlotte. Check-in went smoothly and we had a beautiful room with sweeping views of the city. All good except for the breakfasts which are included in the tariff. On my second morning I found that the breakfast table had been almost totally raided except... More

I am VERY picky about hotels, and I love the Dunhill. I have stayed on two different occasions, once in one of the executive rooms and once in a standard room. The hotel is very clean. They provide soda and water each day and chocolates at turn down service. The rooms are simply and beautifully furnished, and lack the standard... More
