And we have stayed in a lot of rooms in a lot of countries. The Duke Mansion was originally the home of a Mr. Duke, a very wealthy industrialist, entrepreneur and benefactor of Duke University. Over the years the house has seen many owners, upgrades and renovations. It has seen some bad times and some good times. Now operated by... More

We stayed on a Saturday night, as we were there for a wedding. The staff was wonderful and the room was magnificent. It was very large and well appointed. The bed was most comfortable. The breakfast was great and even included Eggs Benedict. I will definitely stay here again.

Stayed two nights at Duke Mansion found through Select Registry. Comfortable king room with large sleeping porch and generous bathroom. Located 5 minutes from downtown, it is a great alternative to hotel lodging. Home is in a residential neighborhood and sits on 4 acres of manicured lawns and gardens. Listed on the historic register, it is well worth the stay.... More

The Duke Mansion is only a 5 minute drive to downtown Charlotte and is in a quiet neighborhood. There is a Starbucks, Panera Bread, wine shop, etc. within walking distance on Providence Road. You are greeted by a not so talkative young man at a desk. He sits there all day, then someone else on duty at night. I stayed... More

This is a charming Inn in the most beautiful neighborhood in Charlotte. The service is friendly and excellent. The concept of the Foundation makes staying here even more special. Our room was large with a beautiful balcony and the bath was also large and well equipped. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Charlotte ... for pleasure or business.

I will absolutely stay at the Duke Mansion if and when I return to Charlotte. I is located in a nice area, but what's more are the grounds themselves. It's the kind of hotel you can just walk around and look at the beautiful gardens, or curl up in one of the many lovely sitting areas both in and out... More

Beautiful Mansion, good breakfast! Located close to downtown Charlotte in a very pretty neighborhood! Definitely will come back!! The staff was very helpful with directions for different areas. We also visited Salsbury, cute historical town, and went to Hendersonville in the mountains, lovely drive!

Went with a group for a wedding, the Duke is really wonderful and the staff exceptional. We had a small issue with our room air conditioner not working on the few days it was warm. The room we stayed in the windows were painted shut so two of the nights were a bit uncomfortable. Staff was working on the issue... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast is not to be believed! It is a full menu (including eggs Benedict and french toast) made to order and served on table cloths and with cloth napkins. This is included with the room. There is coffee available on your floor with china cups and cream. The gardens and... More

We spent a night at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte and were impressed with the location, the size of the bedroom, and the general atmosphere of a quiet wooded residential neighborhood near downtown Charlotte. We had dinner at the Fig Tree and rated it 7-8/10 for service, food quality, and value. The wine list was 30 pages long and ranged... More
