Although we only stayed for one night, we thoroughly enjoyed the Mansion. I had read a biography of Doris Duke and was so interested in visiting her childhood home. Wonderfully well kept mansion. Lovely gardens. Lovely neighbourhood. Charlotte was a surprise - lovely small city, the wonderful science museum, great for children, had a lovely lunch at Luce, italian restaurant,... More

This is an extraordinary bed and breakfast. Actually, it is a conference center with many special events. The room (King with Porch on second floor) was exceptional. The breakfast was really terrific. We stayed for two nights and both the "off the menu" breakfast and the breakfast buffet were great. It is located in a wonderful quiet neighborhood only five... Stayed for one night in a queen room. Lovely place to stay and beautiful area with sidewalks to walk around. Room was not overly large but definitely comfortable. Bathroom was large. Complimentary breakfast was very good with eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, fruit, etc. Price was very reasonable. Would definitely stay again.

We concluded our trip around the state of North Carolina in Charlotte at The Duke Mansion. I paid the little extra to stay in the "King Porch" room on the second floor....I must admit it was the best decision. The room was large as was the porch. We enjoyed the cooler evenings sitting on the porch sharing a bottle of... More

We could just imagine what it would be like to walk the grounds of this mansion in the spring, summer or fall. Unfortunately, we were there during a cold, windy, rainy weekend in the winter. So we'll have to go back! (As it was, we enjoyed walking around the mansion.) Our room on the second floor was beautifully decorated, very... More

I booked 14 rooms at the hotel along with meeting space and a dinner party for an out of town business meeting. We had guests flying in from various states and staying for one to four nights. The planning process went very smooth, the rooms were fabulous and the staff was absolutely wonderful. Each morning there was a full hot... More

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at The Mansion recently and had a really wonderful and relaxed time during our short stay. Everyone on staff is very accommodating, the rooms are large and very well decorated, the buffet breakfast was yummy, and the grounds are a pleasure to stroll through---even on a cold February day. I will... More

We had a one night stay in January 2015 while the hotel and grounds were undergoing rennovations. Although the construction was not noted on the website, the concierge let us know wbout it in advance when we called, and there was a price reduction, so it made the stay definitely more affordable. Although we were told that there was construction... More

We stayed at the Duke Mansion over the Christmas holidays and, again, we were quite pleased with the staff, accommodations and breakfast. (Some of the staff even remembered us from our stay at Thanksgiving about 13 months ago). The grounds have been improved and are prettier than before, although just being in the Myer's Park area is delightful enough. The... More
