We had a one night stay in January 2015 while the hotel and grounds were undergoing rennovations. Although the construction was not noted on the website, the concierge let us know wbout it in advance when we called, and there was a price reduction, so it made the stay definitely more affordable. Although we were told that there was construction... More

We stayed at the Duke Mansion over the Christmas holidays and, again, we were quite pleased with the staff, accommodations and breakfast. (Some of the staff even remembered us from our stay at Thanksgiving about 13 months ago). The grounds have been improved and are prettier than before, although just being in the Myer's Park area is delightful enough. The... More

Beautiful, classic, quiet, accommodating, historic. All of the amenities, feels like a piece of history (privileged North Carolinian history, that is)... The reception staff will pretty much help you accomplish whatever you need done. We saw someone having wedding pix done there and that seemed like a good idea. Lovely property. Set in an old upscale neighborhood of Charlotte.

This place is stunning. But do not expect the typical Bed & Breakfast place. It's more like a small hotel. Nice, but not as personal as a typical Bed and breakfast. We stayed only one night, as an adhoc decision when we missed our flight.

We stayed for two nights at the Duke Mansion. I had seen photos on their website and had also read glowing reviews so I was expecting something very special. We weren't disappointed. The Duke Mansion is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful decor and loads of charm. The chandeliers, arch windows, ornate fixtures and finishes and garden areas are as you see... More

Our one-night stay at the Duke Mansion was a taste of the beautiful life of the early 1900s. The mansion showcases the ultimate of splendor and grandeur of that day. Our room was huge and elegantly decorated and had a large marbled bathroom. We enjoyed reading on our private porch overlooking the gardens, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. We'll... More

We fell in the love with this property upon our first visit last July 2013 for our 10 year anniversary. This year's visit was a family trip and we are just as pleased. I was honored to meet the property's general manager, Becky Farris, this year and I can truly say that she's a God send. We had an unfortunate... More

I had no idea how beautiful this mansion would be. I had just finished reading a book written by a relative of Doris Duke and a relative of mine was the attorney protecting her estate from the infamous butler so I knew a fair amount about the Duke dynasty, history and fortune. The mansion was gorgeous, large, well appointed. I... More

The Duke Mansion is a splendid and welcoming restoration which would have made Mr. Duke proud. My husband and I have enjoyed staying there on numerous occasions for business and pleasure. The public spaces are great for large gatherings and the grounds are beautiful. It is fun to imagine yourself as a guest of the original owner!!
