Went with a group for a wedding, the Duke is really wonderful and the staff exceptional. We had a small issue with our room air conditioner not working on the few days it was warm. The room we stayed in the windows were painted shut so two of the nights were a bit uncomfortable. Staff was working on the issue... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast is not to be believed! It is a full menu (including eggs Benedict and french toast) made to order and served on table cloths and with cloth napkins. This is included with the room. There is coffee available on your floor with china cups and cream. The gardens and... More

We spent a night at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte and were impressed with the location, the size of the bedroom, and the general atmosphere of a quiet wooded residential neighborhood near downtown Charlotte. We had dinner at the Fig Tree and rated it 7-8/10 for service, food quality, and value. The wine list was 30 pages long and ranged... More

Lovely old building with great southern charm. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and had a great, full, made to order breakfast and then looped around the gardens. Even though it was cold and only daffodils were out the gardens still made a good impression. We'd love to come back later in the spring to see it for real. We had... More

I can not begin to tell you how elegant and beautiful The Duke Mansion is. Fabulous breakfast, wonderful screened porch, huge bedroom and marble bathroom! The setting is in the middle of the Myers Park residential neighborhood so the Mansion is surround by beautiful, stately homes. The grounds are expansive and manicured! I can only imagine the lifestyle of Doris... More

We spent New Years Eve at Duke Mansion, and loved it! It's a beautiful house with well-maintained grounds. The service was extraordinary! When we returned from dinner, we asked the man at the front desk for ice in our room. To our surprise, it was awaiting us when we got upstairs. We still don't know how he did it so... More

Best B & B in Charlotte area, make time to checkout the nearby historic myers park neighborhood. Be sure to take a camera. Short drive to uptown Charlotte and South park area for great restaurants and museums.

My husband and I were looking forward to a quiet, romantic night at this beautiful mansion. The parking lot was full when we arrived because of a community board meeting and there isn't anyone to help with bags. Our room was beautiful and large, and the porch was wonderful, except for the constant sound of several leaf blowers and the... More

We recently spent two nights at the Duke Mansion while visiting Charlotte for the first time. We chose it because it was ideally located for walking in the historic Myers Park area, one which we especially wished to see. We also had a mid-week special on our room. We were not disappointed in our choice, despite a bit of room... More

This is far more than a homely B and B . We realised this the minute that we turned into the drive and caught our first glimpse of the elegant building surrounded by gorgeous gardens. Our room was huge with an equally spacious bathroom and the sleeping porch complete with swing seats and rocking chairs was a marvellous place to... More
