We went to celebrate a friends birthday. It is a beautiful building in a quiet residential area with lovely gardens. The staff gave excellent and personal service from reception, at meal times and other requests were met without fuss. The food was also very good. Each room was different and unique.

I had a wonderful stay at the Duke Mansion. The mansion and grounds are spectacularly beautiful with many original details preserved, but all modern comforts supplied. Though I arrived at 6 am after the redeye from the west coast I was warmly received, given a place to change and wash up and fed a delicious southern breakfast in the exquisite... More

Wonderful in every way! Our room was absolutely beautiful, service was impeccable, breakfast delicious! Will never stay in another hotel in Charlotte! Coi at the front desk was so helpful and had a bottle of champagne ready when we arrived to celebrate my sisters birthday! We drank champagne as we strolled around the exquisite gardens and then rocked and swing... More

We stayed here on the eve of our 10 year anniversary in July of 2013 and I just realized that I never submitted a review. This was the ultimate bed and breakfast experience for us. The property is to die for if you like the idea of being in a residential area rich in history and staying in its crown... More

First off, this property should probably be listed as a boutique hotel, rather than a traditional bed and breakfast. That being said, this is a great place to stay in an amazing neighborhood. My wife and I walked every morning before breakfast just to admire the surrounding residential architecture. The breakfasts were delicious. The Duke is close to downtown and... More

This is truely a gem! The setting is both elegant and intimate. The mansion is secluded in an upcale residential neighborhood and sits amid 4.5 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. The staff is cordial and attending to the comforts of clients seems effortless. There are 20 rooms available, all large and lovely. Ours included a screened porch overlooking the garden.... More

I had a great one night stay at the Duke Mansion. I wish I could have stayed longer. The room and mansion are beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed my room, bed and a lovely screened patio with views of the grounds and fountain. I would happily stay again. Note that during my visit, a large outdoor renovation was going on, so... More

We were so excited to stay at the Duke Mansion as this was our first time in Charlotte! After using many references & talking to people we decided this would be the place to be. Our excitement was peaked when we drove in to the neighborhood - WOW! Driving up to the Duke is IMPRESSIVE to say the least! We... More

** As of late January, the back garden was being overhauled so you might see piles of dirt and hear backhoe noise on that side of the property until 5:00pm, as we did. ** This great old house tucked in an elegant enclave is ideal for anyone visiting Carolinas Medical Center, a five- or seven-minute walk away. We had a... More

What a beautiful B&B -- really an upscale inn -- in a lovely part of Charlotte. Will definitely return! Hate to give it too rave a review because there are few rooms and we may not be able to make a reservation when we return. (2015 is the 100th anniversary of the home that Doris Duke's father built so there... More

Thank you for your kind review! We look forward to having you back with us in the spring. We decided to tackle tis project in the colder months so we can get the hardscapes... More
