This is a gorgeous restored mansion set in a fabulous acre of immaculate gardens. Decent location on the south side of town. It ought to be a treasure, but it's not. Here's why. There is no personal service - no owner who greets you as at other Select Registry inns. Only a (probably poorly paid) person at the front desk... More

If you're visiting Charlotte, by all means consider staying at the Duke Mansion. Located in a lovely neighborhood less than three miles from downtown and the Mint museums, this elegant home will soothe your soul. There are only twenty rooms. The grounds are impeccable; children's garden, rose garden, herb garden and the great lawn make wandering a pleasure. You will... More

The duke mansion was not very busy on the Sunday Monday we stayed so we really enjoyed having the place to our selves. When we arrived I only saw one staff member, Jessica was very nice . For how fancy this place looks they are not snooty at all! The Duke mansion is in a lovely neighborhood.great place to take... More

I stayed at the Duke Mansion during a recent business trip, which was my first visit to Charlotte. I fell in love with this hotel, and because of expert guidance from its staff, the city of Charlotte. First, this "b&b" is located in the gorgeous Myers Park neighborhood... peaceful, tree-lined streets with one after another beautiful home, and the Duke... More

This is a 20 room hotel which was one of the Duke Family's homes which has been converted into a hotel. Rooms are spacious and very clean. TV reception was fair. Bathrooms huge. And meeting space was excellent. Food was good. Excellent value.

Although we only stayed for one night, we thoroughly enjoyed the Mansion. I had read a biography of Doris Duke and was so interested in visiting her childhood home. Wonderfully well kept mansion. Lovely gardens. Lovely neighbourhood. Charlotte was a surprise - lovely small city, the wonderful science museum, great for children, had a lovely lunch at Luce, italian restaurant,... More

This is an extraordinary bed and breakfast. Actually, it is a conference center with many special events. The room (King with Porch on second floor) was exceptional. The breakfast was really terrific. We stayed for two nights and both the "off the menu" breakfast and the breakfast buffet were great. It is located in a wonderful quiet neighborhood only five... Stayed for one night in a queen room. Lovely place to stay and beautiful area with sidewalks to walk around. Room was not overly large but definitely comfortable. Bathroom was large. Complimentary breakfast was very good with eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, fruit, etc. Price was very reasonable. Would definitely stay again.

We concluded our trip around the state of North Carolina in Charlotte at The Duke Mansion. I paid the little extra to stay in the "King Porch" room on the second floor....I must admit it was the best decision. The room was large as was the porch. We enjoyed the cooler evenings sitting on the porch sharing a bottle of... More

We could just imagine what it would be like to walk the grounds of this mansion in the spring, summer or fall. Unfortunately, we were there during a cold, windy, rainy weekend in the winter. So we'll have to go back! (As it was, we enjoyed walking around the mansion.) Our room on the second floor was beautifully decorated, very... More
