Nice hotel off from the busier streets but walkable to the heart of uptown and the stadiums. Located in the center of Johnson & Wales University. Staff was very helpful. Parking and breakfast were $14 each. We opted to breakfast elsewhere.

On a recent visit to the USA from the UK we arrived in this hotel after touring around North Carolina and had previously made a reservation in this hotel in December 2014 as my daughter was attending a Taylor Swift concert. Upon arrival, I was informed that they had no reservation available for us, I assume they had over booked... More

My daughter started school at JWU and my wife and I spent 2 nights here while she moved into her apartment and went through orientation. Hotel was very clean, day time staff were very helpful, (evening staff less so) and it was incredibly convenient since the University is right outside the doors. The pool area while small, was nice. Construction... More

Spent a great weekend in Charlotte, staying at the Doubletree in the heart of the city. It was conveniently located and in walking distance of a lot of the attractions I was interested in, including the BBT Ballpark (home of the Knights), the stadium, the convention center, lots of food options, and several neat sites in general. I really enjoyed... More

This was a last minute stay with Gateway Village Hilton Doubletree and it was a great experience. Staff and hotel are fabulous. Will return in the near future and would recommend a stay to friends and family.

When in Charlotte and needing to stay near the Gateway Center, I could not think of a better place. There is construction (remodeling) currently going on (no noise as to distrub guests) but the food service has been moved to 2nd floor meeting rooms. If you are not desperate for in hotel food service, this is not an issue and... More

Stayed here on a Saturday night while on vacation from the UK. Friendly staff on arrival, a clean but average room and standard breakfast fare. A 10 minute, safe walk to downtown Charlotte and all the restaurants/bars. Car park was $14 for the night and secure with gated exit. No issues at all and would stay again.

We booked a night at this hotel after we had to leave a previously booked Extended Stay because it was so bad. This DoubleTree is in a great location just outside the main area of bars and restaurant, quick 5 dollar cab ride. The front desk was very nice, enjoyed the cookies as always. Our room was perfect. Clean, cool,... More

We stayed at the doubletree which is an excellent hotel! Nice staff and facility, renovations going on with restaurant - no big deal - it happens! Just didn't like the fact I had to walk my 10 year old through the downtown area near the train on the way to Time Warner with all the homeless/ drunks. Quite an education... More

If having an on site restaurant is important to you know that they essentially have no food service right now. Supposedly new restaurant will open 7/15/15 but I would give it till 8/1/15 because things are always behind schedule. They do have a drinks cart and very basic stuff set up in a second floor meeting room, but it has... More
