We stayed in Hampton Inn 1740 Fordham Blvd.Chapel Hill NC27514 on 06/25/12. I think it may have changed name since then. From the moment we arrived 14.45 we were treated with rudeness by very bad mannered staff. We had pre booked and yet it took 1hr. 50 mins. to allocate a room to us.It seemed to us there were too many... More

I stayed here while on business in Chapel Hill. The hotel is setup like a motel, the rooms are all outdoors. The room itself is a little dark, not much natural light and is generally a little old. The bedding is nice and comfortable. The hotel offers free breakfast and cookies which are a nice touch. The staff are friendly.... More

I'd read other reviews about this property being hard to find and old, not maintained, etc. but I have to say I had the best experience. Not only was it straightforward to find the hotel from their directions on the website but the room was clean, comfortable and cozy and had new linens/comforters. Not to mention the pool was cleaned... More

We stayed one night and have no complaints about the property. It is and older H I, the 13th one in the chain, we were told. Small bathroom by 2012 standards, but clean, as was the room. Choice of three papers including the NYT, which was a nice surprise. Very good breakfast choices, and the area is well laid out.... More

We were at the end of our journey and looking for a good hotel. The Hampton was a little out of town, which we were looking for. The room was great and service was also.

I always stay in Hampton Inn hotels, this was the worst. When I arrived at the hotel it looked nice but once I got in my room it felt moist and there were bugs. Flying bugs and crawling bugs. I went to the front desk and asked if it was because I was on the bottom floor and I was... More

Depending on where you are coming from, this is not a very convenient location to get to- or out of. As an apparently renovated motel, the rooms are OK on the inside but there is a door to the parking lot so car noise is an issue, people smoking on the balcolny or porch is also problematic. Bugs crawling in... More

I was attending a conference at UNC Chapel Hill and needed a hotel nearby. When looking online, the Hampton Inn was one of the less expensive options, and it had a free shuttle service to Downtown Chapel Hill, so I booked a four-night stay. Upon arrival, I was very pleasantly surprised with the super friendly staff at the front desk.... More

A friend and I needed an inexpensive overnight close to the Carrboro Arts Center (less than 3 miles away), and this was a good choice. Clean rooms, two-story garden setting, friendly staff, and free breakfast buffet make this location a reasonable, less expensive stay in the booming Chapel Hill market. Small rooms, exterior room entry, and no elevator in an... More
