This hotel is an old motel. I am not fond of staying at hotels that connect to the outside. The room was OK and small. I was not unhappy staying there because it was only 1 night. Front desk staff was very professional. To be blunt, I would not have stayed there if it were longer than 1 night more

The excellent staff make the best of this fairly mediocre facility. The place is set up motel-style with outside entrances -- the main disadvantage of this for me was that every time I opened the door mosquitos would fly into my room. But the rooms were clean and the area was quiet. It's an easy walk not just to some... more

We stayed over on a Wednesday night for a UNC campus visit. I have stayed in many Hampton Inn properties and this one is not typical of my experience. Room was dark, not especially clean, toilet unflushed(!), and no elevator to 2nd floor. The heater/ac unit reflects a personal pet peeve - rather than a setting to constantly run the... more

My fiance and I stayed here while we were in town for a UNC basketball game. We picked this hotel due to the price and it's location to Franklin St. It is a short 5 min drive to the UNC campus but not within walking distance. The king size beds were extremely comfortable and the whole room was very clean.... more

What you would expect, motel style. Rooms were comfortable, particularly bed & pillow. Bathroom was ordinary, but clean. However, room was quite dark. Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. They greeted you by name. Breakfast was good, with good selection. Every afternoon there were warm chocolate chip cookies! Nice surroundings and quiet location. Note, it is a little hard... more

We just got back from a trip to Chapel Hill. We stayed in this hotel for three days. Front desk staff was very nice. Beer, wine and chili dogs were available for the evening reception. The rooms are small but were for the most part clean. My biggest problem with this hotel was the rooms have outside entrances. I didn't... more

Very clean room, recently renovated, although one of the smaller rooms I've stayed in. Not sure where you would put a rollaway or a crib. For a one night stay, it was plenty for us. The front desk staff was friendly and professional. There was an evening reception (Tues-Thurs from 5:30-7:30pm) with free pizza, beer, wine, cheese, crackers, veggies and... more

This place is immaculate! I checked the room, and there wasn't even a speck of dust on the plantation shutters. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They even had "happy hour" which consisted of beer, wine, cheese and crackers, and pizza. I would definitely stay here again. more

I was a little apprehensive about staying here because of where my room was located (on first level and farthest from the lobby), however, I must say that I was PLEASANTLY surprised. The room, in my opinion, was just the right size. The bed was very comfortable and I truly appreciated the free wireless internet access. Also, was very convenient... more

Booked this room while driving on hwy 40-I can say that whoever cleans these rooms does a great job and the breakfast bar was well stocked and had a good selection. Hampton Inn usually has comfortable beds and these fell right in line with Hampton Inn quality. I would stay here again. more
