I don't even know where to begin, but let me try. First off, the staff is the nicest I have ever encountered at the hotel. Within 2 seconds of parking (also, the parking is extremely convenient in their deck), a wonderful bellhop named Stephen was there to take our bag before we even had time to open our car door.... Very clean and cosy hotel yet very close to a lot of restaurants. One remark: no buffet at breakfast

The Franklin Hotel is the perfect accommodation to take advantage of everything Chapel Hill and Carrboro have to offer. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The restaurant offers a wonderful breakfast. Service is top notch. The rooms are some of the most comfortable and inviting I've ever been in. The front desk personnel remembered me, they... More

We stayed a week in the Franklin Hotel just before Christmas 2011. We found the room very comfortable and the staff very friendly and relaxed. We had a room facing the street with a balcony. We could not make use of the balcony as the weather was too cold but it would be very nice in the right weather; the... More

We had planned on staying at a less-expensive place outside of Chapel Hill. When we arrived in town, that seemed inconvenient for what we had planned, so we just walked into the Franklin to see if they had a room - it wasn't a football weekend - and they said they had a cancellation we could take. When we saw... More

I have stayed in this hotel a few times over the years. Each time, the service is impeccable. The rooms are luxurious and very comfortable. The location is great! Near UNC-Chapel Hill and within walking distance of good restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer free breakfast. They have country sausage and biscuits that are great! The... My husband and I live in town and went here for an overnight getaway. We had a King bedroom with a balcony overlooking Franklin Street which was lovely. Luxury linens, beautiful furniture, surround sound speakers with iPod hookups all made for a pampered stay. The cookies at the front desk were delicious, and the full breakfast was excellent. We walked... More

Being a slacker at times I was confronted with the challenge of planning a very special anniversary in in very short time span. Only having one night I sought a special hotel conveniently located with-in walking distance of restaurants, galleries, clubs, etc. One the recomendation of a trusted friend I booked at The Franklin. Diedre along with the other friendly... More

Not impressed with the service or experience I had on a recent stay at The Franklin. The hotel touts itself to be one of the finest places to stay in town but they really don’t back that up with their service and staff. Check-in is supposed to be at 4pm—I couldn’t get in to my room until 5:30pm. I was... More

We stayed here for two nights for our babymoon/30th birthday/mini-vacation 2011. It was a wonderful, romantic weekend and the Franklin was perfect. It's a smaller, boutique hotel with about 60 rooms right on hip Franklin Street in downtown Chapel Hill. The staff was extremely warm and friendly. We had a king room not facing Franklin Street and it was a... More
