We had stayed at The Siena Hotel once or twice over the years and were looking forward to our return. Unfortunately, The Siena is not aging gracefully. Looking a little worn inside and out. In addition, we were sorry to discover (at 5:00 AM) that we had a barking dog neighbor. Apparently, dogs are allowed on the 2nd floor. Wish... more

Despite all the hype for the AAA rating and Preferred Hotels inclusion, this hotel is clearly aged and location is lacking for any and all guests looking to enjoy the Chapel Hill environment. The rooms are very aged, with older furniture, fixtures and televisions. They are furnished minimally, and the ceilings are peeling and stained. The location is very poor... more

My son and I were visiting UNC and I decided to stay here after reading other reviews. It was a perfect stay. Our room (2 double beds) was extremely spacious and the beds were comfortable. The morning breakfast was complimentary and very good. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. It was very quiet but we visited during... more

Old world elegance at a reasonable price (unless it's a football weekend...watch out!) The suites are wonderful with space..even with a dining table (if one chooses to ignore some great restaurants downstairs and nearby) Near to downtown without having a parking problem (parking is free) Dinners are superb, although wine list is expensive. Included Breakfast could be better. If you... more

I wanted to treat myself to a nice hotel for my brief stay in Chapel Hill on business. What a waste of money! I had problems booking my room, so the clerk upgraded me to a corner king which I was excited about. Check in was lacking, apathetic college students. I could not get into my room because the door... more

Having read the reviews on this site I was interested to see what I thought of the Siena Hotel. The room was enormous as was the bathroom. It was very "old style". I think it is intended to remind guests of a European hotel and it does in some ways (type of furniture, hand held shower nozzle, etc). There are... more

The Siena Hotel is one of the most comfortable places I have stayed throughout my travels. I travel to the Chapel Hill area 3-4 times a year and always look forward to staying here. The front desk staff is the best I have come across, they always seem to have what I have forgotten. This last stay I left my... more

How better to start a review of Sienna by stating that a few months ago we spent two weeks in Italy...Siena reminded of us of our trip and the wonderful hotel we stayed in Venice...but now the wonderful hotel is in Chapel Hill! The staff of the hotel is exceptional- young, motivated, interested in taking care of customer needs...that is,... more

I reserved a Large Studio Suite for 3 Nights at the end of March for my parents and sister. Overall, their stay was wonderful. The room was beautifully decorated and the staff friendly. Check-In - Siena hotel uses a sit down check-in, which is something I've never seen before. It was a nice touch, but could become frustrating if several... more

I recently stayed at the Siena for a UNC basketball game. Having never heard of the hotel, it’s AAA Four Diamond rating, it’s reputation, or it’s famed restaurant I did not know what to expect. Usually I’m very hesitant when I’m assigned to a non-chain hotel. The hotel was easy to find with the help of a GPS, despite being... more
