My family and I stayed at the High Hampton Inn the first week of June. Although I had doubts as to how cool it would be, it was really lovely. There is no air conditioning at the hotel but with our windows open at night, it was very enjoyable. I do not know what it would be like later in... More

I don't know where you can go and get this many people in one space and receive the care these people give. The food is plenty, and quite good. The setting with the lake and mountains in the backdrop are stunning. Plenty of trails on and near the site.

Just finished a 3 night family reunion for 80 at High Hampton in Cashiers. It's a throw back in time in a gorgeous setting. If you're looking for a posh Four Seasons this isn't it but if you're looking for a wonderful family, rustic environment with nonstop activities, great food and hard working staff this is the place. No TVs... More

Wife and I have stayed here 2 or 3 times over the past 4+ years. Mountain lodge with decent size dining room. Rooms in the lodge, plus many cottages on the property with 1 to several rooms in each of them. Most have a deck with rocking chairs. Nice lake on the property - great views. Golf course (have not... We stayed here for three nights for a family celebration. I loved it and had a fabulous time. We were all adults, no children. This is not a fancy dancy lodge and cabins but rather a rustic family oriented resort with a main lodge and cabins/cottages. We stayed in the Lake cottage which was lovely. But bring a flashlight as... More

Thank you for the time you took to write of your experience. Yes, we are kind of “off the grid” but we think that is an advantage in today’s hectic world. People do need the opportunity to slow down for a day or two to really appreciate life more. We hope that we provided that refreshing and often needed experience... More

Let me start by saying if you’re looking for the Omni or Hilton this is not the place for you. It’s very rustic and even though I was prepared, it still took a little bit to take it all in. Remember there is no elevator. Once you settle in the gentleness of the pace and the activities make you realize... More

Thank you so much for your descriptions of the various activities with which took place within your family. From check-in to tea, hiking, teen room, fishing and such. You certainly took advantage of the many activities one can do including “nothing” like reading a book in the early AM. We do apologize for our greens on the back side. This... More

Spent 4 days at the High Hampton. We found our Oak cottage to be very comfortable and clean. We had a great time hiking, boating, and eating great food. The temperature was great in May, but may be a little warm in the summer.....no air conditioning in our cottage. I think the Rooms in the Inn have air, but dogs... More

Thank you very much for your remarks and high grades. Yes, Oak is a nice cottage and centrally located. Having pet friendly options has become very important in today’s traveling public. We hope that you will return soon and thank you again for the time you took to write. Appreciatively, Clifford Meads More

The High Hampton Inn is not for everyone. It's not for you if: - you're too important to be without ubiquitous Wifi for even a moment; - you need a mobile device and cell signal everywhere you go; - you enjoy wearing tank tops and pajamas to dinner; - you can't miss TV for even a day; - you need... I have been to High Hampton twice a year for the past five years and look forward to visits in the future. All the employees are attentive and most helpful, from Tina at the front desk to Sone and Bryan in the dining room. Anything you ask for they try to get for you. Cliff, the general manager works tirelessly... More

We were very disappointed in this overpriced and pretentious hotel. The bed was way too soft and we both woke up with backaches from lack of support. Water pressure in the shower was poor - and at times the hot water kept cutting off and on - not pleasant. The food, which looks so beautiful on their website was mediocre... More

Thank you for relaying your thoughts. We are disappointed to hear that your experience was not what you had envisioned. Our bed ratings traditionally are consistently very high but clearly on this occasion they did not meet your comfort requirements. I am confused as to the charging for storing your soy milk in our refrigerator. If that was the case... More
