We were very pleased with KOA West Asheville. The campground is small, however it is on the Interstate and most are nightly visitors. We had the swimming pool to ourselves most of the time. The playground was small and not in a convenient location. The staff were exceptional. Convenient laundry service. Interstate noise was a little excessive at night.

I stayed here for one night in a campsite with water and electric. The campsite I had was very spacious with a picnic table and fire pit and a private clearing in the woods for the tent. (I did see some sites that were not as pretty and private, though.) I felt very safe, as it was all families that... More

This is a very clean, convenient, and family oriented campground. The staff is excellent, and the facilities are well maintained. It is family oriented, and you will feel very safe there. Here are some things to keep in mind. Part of what makes it convenient is that it is right off I-40, however that also means you are close to the... More

we stayed for one night in a cabin, just passing through on our way to gatlinburg. we were skeptical at first, the place was deserted when we pulled in (on a wed night). we loved our cabin, so cute and cozy with bunk beds and 1 full bed. ac worked well and there was plenty of room for our family... Having stayed at several different KOA's.....Asheville West is by far the cleanest, friendliest and most convenient one we have stayed at! Heather is the nicest and most helpful, going far beyond what anyone could possibly expect from any staff member. We had the pleasure of staying in one of their cozy cabins, most KOA's have thin mattresses, Asheville West's are... More

Heather was just superior in all that she did for us. From check in to "check on" she was true southern hospitality friendly. I had an issue with my eye and needed medical attention. Heather made certain we knew exactly where to go and also even stopped by our site to check on me during the evening. The campground itself... More

We stayed in the Kamping Cabins on this trip to Asheville. I admit that we weren't looking for a true camping experience. Our focus for this trip was to spend as much time doing things in and around Asheville. These cabins are perfect for the purpose of sleeping and having an inexpensive place to land. The outdoor kitchen is well... More

After being kicked out of Mount Pisgah National Forest Campground (Due to the government shut down), my wife and I needed to find a place to stay and quick. Not knowing how state campgrounds were affected by the shut down and what was available we found this place and booked it for 3 nights. Even though it is right next... More

A group of 6 of us came for a 30th birthday weekend in October. Overall, this KOA location is in close proximity to Asheville attractions, such as the Biltmore and downtown Asheville. However, it is close to a highway, so when there's a lot of traffic, it is noisy at all hours of the night. If you're checking in at... More

We had 10 of our Motorcycle group with us, pulling our motorcycle campers. Three had their toy haulers. We camped about 4 spots down from the bath house (down hill) The spot was level, but didn't have much grass. lots of clay. I am assuming it was from the summer rain and I was very happy that it didn't rain... More
