We loved hiking the trails here. The trail to Juney Whanks was a short but intense trail. We kept on the trail from there up Deep Creek Trail, being sure to avoid the horse trail, on down to Indian Creek Falls. I was worried it would be too easy but the entire hike lasted about 1.5 hours.

We drove over an hour to get here and were not disappointed! $25 for a Fam of 5 to have a wonderful outdoor experience ...thought everyone who worked there was super nice and very authenticly NC so not understanding the reviews saying people weren't friendly. Highly recommend!

We go tubing every year here and always rent from the campground. They are the last ones on the road, they are helpful and have the better tubes with bottoms/backs. Lots of rocks to get stuck on and just as much fun to bounce off the them to free yourself. Some years the water is higher than others, still one... More

While the people were friendly we were a little disappointed that 10 minutes into our float, one of our tubes got a huge hole in it so we didn't get to do the whole float. To top it off we got charged 15.00 for the tube. They were nice and only charged us half price, but geez, when we just... More

This is one of the best family tubing experiences in the mountains: clean clear water, some fun rapids, nice views of nature, not crowded, not filled with litter the way some streams are. "Deep" creek is actually fairly shallow, FYI, and water is COLD! You rent your tube for $5 for the entire day, let them tie it to the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights with a large family reunion group. We reserved the Mountain Laurel rustic cabin. It included a double bed and a lift with 2 mattresses. The cabin was nicely decorated and fit the cabin motif. Bathroom was new and located outside the cabin. It lacked necessary hooks for clothing and towels. Onsite outdoor workers were... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a tent. Our site was one of 3 RV sites that had shelters and we were able to set up our large tent under it. Great for shading or in case of rain! We were right near the bath house, one of the playgrounds and the creek access. Several reviewers mentioned rude staff and... More

The Good: The campground is set up beautifully with lots to do. Nicely shaded by mature trees and as much privacy as possible considering the sites are so close together. The river runs alongside the campground so you can tube anytime you want. The Bad: This seems to be a family run establishment and the friendliness of the staff depended... More

Tuning down the Deep Creek was very fun! We went down two times and enjoyed both of them. It took some getting used to regarding the rocks and getting unstuck! The value was great... $5 for hours of fun is great! But be aware that falling out of the tube on some drops can happen. Of our family, every single... More
