My husband and I stayed at the Historic Calhoun House Hotel while visiting the mountains of N.C. The hotel has a wonderful history and the hosts were amazing historians, with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Our hosts were very service-oriented and made sure we had whatever we needed to be comfortable and have an enjoyable stay. The hotel... More

Wonderful experience and the hosts made the stay such a memorable experience for my daughter and I. We were given the choice of a different room - the owners suggested my daughter might enjoy the third floor and they were right. The a/c cooled down quickly in the new room. It was an adventure to explore the house and Bryson... More

We stayed one night and we were pleased with the hotel in general. There are only window air conditioners and our room took a LONG time to cool down. They didn't turn it on until we arrived (maybe call ahead and ask if they can get it started). It was fun to explore the whole hotel and learn the history.... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Historic Calhoun House Hotel. The hotel is lovely inside with antiques, but very clean and comfortable. The owners welcome you with warmth and gentility. The morning light breakfast is served by the owners and includes delicious homemade food. It is in the heart of charming Bryson City, where you can enjoy walking the street... More

Great ambience, great breakfasts, and a wonderful host. I look forward to staying there again. We absolutely loved it. What a treasure. Sit on the porch in a rocking chair and watch the world go by or walk a block and ride the train. Many good restaurants nearby. I deli next door and an ice cream shop on the other... More

We stayed two nights and three days at this beautiful hotel and we loved every minute of it. Luke and Layla were the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcomed. They were so kind to let us check in much earlier than the check-in time and they let us check out 5 hours later than the usual check-out time... More

Sure, it cost a little bit more what it's worth every penny. If you're riding on the Great Smoky Mountains railroad it's within walking distance and you can park your car at the establishment and walk to the train station. Clean comfortable and king size beds. Definitely more bang for the buck.

Nice place to hang your hat for the night while you take in downtown Brewery and Restaurants. Inn keeper Luke is a nice guy who is their to please for sure. "So how are we treating you all so far" is what he will ask. Answer was fantastic. Great morning breakfast also. Cant imagine staying anywhere else when in BC.... More

I have driven through Bryson city before but must have missed the"downtown". The Calhoun is in the center of the restored downtown area and within walking distance of all the restaurants and bars. Very friendly folks that couldn't be more accommodating. Priced right too.

This hotel is in the middle of Bryson City and is centrally located to 5 minute walks to fine restaurants, to the steam engine railroad, and a few miles from the Deep Creek area of the Smoky Mountain National Park. Bryson City is at the head of Fontana Lake and is a few miles from the Nantahala River known for... More
