The Hemlock Inn has a special place in our family's hearts. Since coming here 30 some years ago, we still are drawn back to the simple pleasures that this inn affords. A total of 17 family members enjoyed the hospitality of the inn last week. In today's rushed world, one longs for this type of atmosphere. The welcome is warm,... More

Our first visit to Hemlock Inn was in June of 1985 on our honeymoon. We drove out from CT and went home with many warm memories of the people we met, the beauty and serenity of the setting, the hospitality of the inn keepers, and the terrific food for breakfast and dinner each day. For our 30th anniversary, we decided... More

We have been going to the Hemlock Inn for over 20 years and have found the people, the food, the location and the Inn to be consistently wonderful. The Inn is close within minutes of the cherokee reservation and the casinos, the smokey mountain national park, the deep creek tubing campground, the Nantahala outdoor center and the blue ridge parkway.... This is one of the best places I've ever been to!! In Canada, one doesn't get an accommodation where homemade breakfast and dinner are included. I found this an absolutely amazing set up. The big bonus, the food is top notch!!! The only thing bad about the food is what my scale is going to say when I get home!!... More

My wife is still upset. Our trip to the Great Smokies was planned just because of this place. We were unaware of the additional fees that jumped our nightly stay from 169 to 225 per night. Food was disappointing. As stated in a number of reviews the bathrooms are quite outdated. The place has two things going for them. The... More

We stayed for four nights at The Hemlock Inn this month to relive fond memories of the 1990s when we first went there. I found a hand-made fabric on the wall in Room #24 that says: "In the mountains at Hemlock Inn, we forget to count the days" (see photo). Innkeepers Mort White and wife Lainey made us feel wanted... This was our second stop at the Hemlock Inn as part of the Polar Express and it does not disappoint. The staff is hospital and friendly. The rooms are simple, but what we love is the unplugged, family-friendly atmosphere. We love the family-style dining and the family room (with huge Christmas tree,) complete with rockers, a fireplace and games is... More

Very nice folks and a great piece of real estate. But many things are way too old and been used a few too many times. If you want to stay in Bryson City and close to the Smokey Mountain DR this is certainly the spot. That being said you have to live with accomodations that were last updated maybe 40... More

There is comfort in finding good things unchanged, just as you remembered. This was so as we arrived for our eighth family Thanksgiving at Hemlock Inn: chill in the air, fire crackling in the fireplace, the honey glow of old pine tables, familiar faces of staff members, even our same room. The friendliness of the Whites and staff plus their... More
