We stayed for four nights at The Hemlock Inn this month to relive fond memories of the 1990s when we first went there. I found a hand-made fabric on the wall in Room #24 that says: "In the mountains at Hemlock Inn, we forget to count the days" (see photo). Innkeepers Mort White and wife Lainey made us feel wanted... This was our second stop at the Hemlock Inn as part of the Polar Express and it does not disappoint. The staff is hospital and friendly. The rooms are simple, but what we love is the unplugged, family-friendly atmosphere. We love the family-style dining and the family room (with huge Christmas tree,) complete with rockers, a fireplace and games is... More

Very nice folks and a great piece of real estate. But many things are way too old and been used a few too many times. If you want to stay in Bryson City and close to the Smokey Mountain DR this is certainly the spot. That being said you have to live with accomodations that were last updated maybe 40... More

There is comfort in finding good things unchanged, just as you remembered. This was so as we arrived for our eighth family Thanksgiving at Hemlock Inn: chill in the air, fire crackling in the fireplace, the honey glow of old pine tables, familiar faces of staff members, even our same room. The friendliness of the Whites and staff plus their... More

We only stayed one night, came in late and left early. The rooms were very clean the staff were very helpful even given the late arrival. The breakfast setting was a breath of fresh air. Fire in the fireplace, prayer before the meal, and great conversations. Along with beautiful views of the mountains all around. Loved it.

The Hemlock Inn is a wonderful in tucked in the mountains. It is quiet, peaceful and one of the most restful places I have ever been. The people that run it are the nicest friendliest people you could ever want to meet and the food is to die for. It is a perfect place for a family reunion, a wedding,... More

Loved the beautiful surroundings, delicious meals, friendly folks and cute décor of our little bungalow. BUT...the smell of mildew and mold was so heavy in our room that we had to burn incense to be able to inhabit it. Too bad b/c now we won't return. The place was all booked up or we would have asked to move.

Just stayed at the Hemlock in this past week and loved it. We stayed in the house located on the property(Red cottage) and this would be a perfect place for extended family or a reunion. Plenty of room! I can imagine family gathering and telling stories from the past or playing games together. There is enough room that you can... More

We just had a wonderful visit with extended family at Hemlock Inn. The local attractions are fun for all ages and the Inn provided a comfortable place to rest and visit. The meals were all delicious. Everyone who took care of us seemed to genuinely care about us.

We visited for the first time during the first week of July. We had a wonderful time. It was a wonderful family atmosphere. My girls didn't want to leave and want to go back soon - even though they were unplugged (no TV or IPads). Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We would spend our days exploring the area, and...
