Kirkland Creek Campground is definitely very quiet and peaceful. If your looking for a weekend getaway with drinking this is your place. Gunny the owner is very friendly with his dog. There are also two horses roaming the premises. Overall the campground is kind of ran down but the cabin was extremely nice inside.

If your looking for a quiet place to stay thats in the woods, this is the place to go. We previously stayed in the Cherokee KOA and this experience was completely different. As soon as you drive into the campground you will be greeted by a friendly Siberian Husky and 2 horses which roam the property freely. Then Gunny will... More

While looking for camping in the Smokey Mountains my criteria was a quiet cabin for some peace and quiet to enjoy the cool mountain view and the local surrounding area. Finding Kirkland Creek on the web I thought it looked like a great fit. The perception this campground gives from the website is not the one you find when you... More

We were looking for a cabin that we could stay for a short weekend that would allow pets. Looking online and discovered this campground. Our family loved the the cabin. It was neat well kept. We would go back again sometime soon.

We decided to take a last minute trip to Bryson City to do some camping rafting and hiking. I have a 12 year old daughter and she was really happy with the place and so was I. They offered us a great spot by the creek for camping, they have a clean property, showers and bathrooms and a great swimming... More

We camped at Kirkland Creek Campground at the end of July in our 36 foot travel trailer. Only a few sites can accommodate an RV as large as ours, but we had a nice corner site that fit us well. If you visit, you can expect to experience the local flavor and a friendly host. Surrounded by pines and the... More

We enjoyed camping on the tent site by the creek. Gunny, the owner, is one of the most friendliest people I have ever met. He made sure we had everything we needed and welcomed us to use any of his supplies we needed, as well as offered assistance with helping to clean fish if we needed. He has all the... More

This campground is 30 min. From the nantahala river.which is the reason we came to n.c.this place is a little further out from most camping and hotel places which I loved away from a lot of people. Gunny was the best. He made us feel welcome.he had everything we needed like restrooms, showers, wood, ice. Except food but a grocery store was 10... More

We stayed 3 days and 2 nights, and we couldn't be happier with our stay. The only sound we heard after 11 pm was the frogs and crickets, which for July 4th weekend was amazing. This place isn't the Hilton, but isn't claiming to be. If you want quiet, country style camping, this is the campground in the Bryson City... More
