My wife and I only stayed the one night after meeting there with other friends while travelling in the area. The property grounds are picture perfect and clearly shows pride of ownership of this "Mom and Pop" kind of motel. If you scan their website, we can truly say the photos do not do this location justice, they must be... more

Was in Boone for a watercolor workshop at Cheap Joe's Art Stuff 7/27-7/31. I wanted something cozy and out of the motel chain cookie cutter formula. And I found it at the 12 room Hidden Valley Motel! Stayed solo, queen size bed, room was immaculate, about 15 minute drive south of Boone town center proper. Yes it is decorated country... more

My daughter and I stayed at Hidden Valley when we went up to look for an apartment for the upcoming semester at App State. For that purpose the motel is a little out of the way, but it was so lovely and peaceful that I'm really glad we found it. I didn't really want to stay in a cookie cutter... more

We just got back from 3 nights at the Hidden Valley and we had a super time. Jim and Maxine were lovely and very warm and friendly. My best friend and I took my two children, we reserved rooms 1 and 2. Room 1 has a better layout I think, but both rooms had plenty of space. They were the... more

I was looking for economical, clean lodging near my son's college and found it at Hidden Valley. The owners couldn't be more pleasant and my room was very clean and comfortable. Not deluxe, mind you, and a coffeepot or microwave would have been nice but the location is great w/lots of local color and it is much more reasonable than... more

Enjoyed my stay here. I prefer Mom and Pops to the huge motels that you have to walk 1/4 mile from your car to the room. It's more like driving up to your house and just going in the door. Comfortable bed and nicely decorated. Owners were very pleasant and were eager to make sure stay was enjoyable. I will... more

The person that answer the phone to book the room was very irritated. First they have some rooms, then did not have any....maybe because my accent.....It does'n matter because we found a better, nice and comfy place to stay. Where the people are polite and please to have us as a guest. more

We are a true mom and pop motel, no staff, and no excuse for failing a potential guest, but not always easy to have a smile in your voice 24/7. Won’t find us sitting at the desk looking at the reservation book when a call comes in, always a job to do, when we reach the book we may find...

We stayed here 2 nights in October 2007. We have 3 kids and were thrilled to find the motel offered a 3-bed room. The room was large, the beds were comfy, we each had 2 huge fluffy pillows. There was a TV, nice clean bathroom, plenty of towels and a small nook with a fridge and a table. I loved... more

The room we had was very clean. The size was about medium size. It was not tight but it was not large either. It had two double beds. The hotel was a little older and country looking but the updates did not look that old. The AC/Heat unit was just like the ones in all other hotels. Since it was... more

Oops, being over 6 ft myself I never thought about the height of the shower head, when I added the detachable unit it raised it several more inches, will have to check into a different mounting system. Sort of hate to throw away good TV’s that are not remote capable when the swap to digital transmission is expected in the...

I just wanted to let anyone know who might be staying in Boone, Banner Elk, or Foscoe, North Carolina that to rethink about staying at this motel if you want comfort. I thought the room was very quaint, clean, and pleasantly decortated. There are no phones. The room we had had the bed right next to the air/heater. Since it... more

Correct no phones, no pool, just not practical in an 8 room motel. This would be our smallest room. Breakfast is available in walking distance, about a city block, at the country store, or about 2 miles away at Grandview Restaurant where you turn up to Hawksnest Ski Resort. Walls in this room are 8 inch block finished with drywall,...
