What a wonderful suprise!! The Graystone Lodge is not a franchise, but in my opinion a wonderful hidden treasure on Hwy 105. It was warm, cozy and inviting. What lovely people. I was skeptical when I read one of the reviews of the hotel but my experience was very good. everything was very clean, room was more than adequate, ref., & microwave. Pool was very nice, clean, water was very warm. Continental breakfast was very good, even had a person staffing it. Very good Hotel--would recommend more

After checking in to another hotel in Boone decided to check back out due to trouble. They had not informed us of the fact that half of the parking lot was closed due to repairs when reservations were made. Just out sightseeing, no reservations. All major hotels full. Referred to Greystone. Way over priced for facility and service. Desk clerk indifferent to needs, room old and musty with heavy perfume. Lots of other places to stay next time. Delete Greystone from your list. more
